Are you getting addicted to any song(s)

Call it instrumental if you like - but here's one of the most beautiful acoustic piano renditions of what I consider is the best dubstep track with vocals I've ever heard.

Seven Lions - Worlds Apart feat. Kerli (Acoustic Piano rendition by J.Wang)

Haven't heard the original (probably should for context) but yeah, that is an incredible rendition. You can feel the emotion in the music bring you to tears...

add: jeez, you weren't kidding when you said 'best dubstep track'. If someone can listen to this without actually crying, they don't f*cking feel music. Never thought the lyrics in a dubstep song would shine like this...

I'm not heavy into trance/edm but my fav dubstep is skrillex's levels (cliche?). But i don't think i'm getting over this song anytime soon.

Trying to get in, find you through the cracks

And if you're sitting right here, Why are we worlds apart

Do you mean Avicii's Levels?

Not a genre I'm a big fan of, but this track is well-made and sort of stays in your head.

Speaking about 80s,...
Now that you bring up the 80s. Here's one from someone I've listened to quite a bit back then - more as a sort of tribute to my late uncle who was obssessed with Howard Jones (not even sure how popular he was here, around then) and owned pretty much all his audio cassettes. Coming from the stale ABBA and Boney-M (and Jim Reeves) LPs that my parents played to death, I was quite hooked too.

And one more from my uncle's mix tape - this one I still listen to, quite a bit.

I'm hooked, line and sinker...

One of the most beautiful songs ever.

All i want now is for someone to cover it acapella. Without the dubstep and autotune. It doesn't sound like a very difficult song to sing.

Here's another:

I know what you mean. When I heard this track for the first time it released, a lot of things came back to me and hit me literally like a freight train. It reminded about someone I met in my life at a stage when we were both just so complete together, but life for each of us (more for me) had already moved on to a stage where it was clear we were never meant to be. It was complicated massively but realised we couldn't make the friendship work - each of us had our own compulsions. That time was one of the most stressful times in my life when it came to personal emotions and I'm not someone whom people who know me - categorize as emotional or well in tune with it! lol. It's probably what contributed to the mess as well! my lack of emotional intelligence ROFL.

anyways, yeah, those lyrics are just too powerful and I think Seven Lions just hit it out of the park with his rendition. If you like Skrillex's level of dubstep, I think you'll be fine with Seven Lions.

The piano rendition of this track is just sublime. In fact it was such a favourite - I got my mom, who is a trained pianist (but hardly plays due to her arthritis on the fingers) to teach me a few of the keys - I play the piano very rarely and mostly by memory - but I couldn't stop playing a few chords from this tune for a week straight! It was just so peacefully heartbreaking, especially the drop that corresponds with "Oh, we're not that different you know
I play among the stars and then fall so low I try to make sense as I go.." and the progression.

Glad you enjoyed it.

It's like an anthem for every unrequited love. Brought back some strong memories for me too. He sure knows how to write music. And not just the profound lyrics, the way even the instrumental can move you, the melodies are almost heartbreaking. Will be checking out more of their stuff.

Again, while I'm not heavy into electronica, this is one of my favourite tracks. Also perfect for a morning alarm tone lol. Very unique that there is zero percussion/drums or a traditional 'beat'. Yet has an amazing rhythm/groove. You need a good device to hear the almost sub-bass. Completely wasted on inferior devices.

Both excellent tracks. I think i heard major Tom about a month ago on umbrella academy s2. Here's the German version!

Here's another one of my personal favourites that'd sum it up in other ways!

The original and a good remix of the same. Again powerful lyrics.

"You wanna touch me but you're too late
You wanna touch me but there's too much history
Starting to live the lies we tell ourselves
I only need you to be friends with me
There's a love between us still
But something's changed and I don't know why
And all I wanna do is go home with you
But I know I'm out of my mind"

All these old nice songs and no one linked even one Roxette song here yet. (╥﹏╥)

How many remember this one?

I do remember, and it's a coincidence I am listening to this artist since last 3-4 days.
though I am listening to another track on repeated mode, as the thread title suggests it's making be addicted.

another classic, one of my favourites -

Haha - lot's of groups! Roxette was a classic! This track was the quintessential tease track for anyone breaking up when we were young! lol

Probably not everybody's cup of tea, and don't quite recall where I picked it up. But been listening to this at least once a day, these past few weeks. Japanese genius... weirdness... whatever.
If you do decide to listen, try to listen to the whole 27 mins. And if you like what you hear, look for the lossless version - sounds way better than the one at YT.

Lovely. The remix is even better. This one won't make you cry but will leave you deep in thought, contemplating ... stuff lol
