Nvidia RTX 3XXX Series announced

I think so too.
I might just buy my cousin's used GTX 1080 Mini for temporary use and wait for the prices to stabilize and then decide again maybe next year. No way am I paying the current asking rates.
If SAM has little benefit then I'm not getting the Zen 3 either. Screw that. I'll just go for used parts. None of the outcomes are playing out like I thought and hoped for lol.
SAM is first gen for AMD. Hope they keep working on it. Then Rage mode is also there but do not expect the performance jump to be more than 5 percent at a max. Check the techpowerup article where they tested 22 games.

I know quite a few people online who actually got FE cards from RP Tech at the lower prices. Like 3070 FE @44,500 and 3090 FE @1,33,500. So it's not a "gimmick" really, but I do agree that the availability of FE cards is very dismal. After these initial stock which came near end of October, no further stock has come for them yet. I've been contacting RP Tech on almost daily basis to buy a 3070 FE and it seems like hope of more stocks is near end of November only, but at least so far they haven't said that prices will increase. That said, they really did set a very hard to achieve baseline price for these cards. Earlier, no one even dreamt of buying a RTX 3070 card for less than 50,000. But now that there's the opportunity to buy it for 44,500 it really messes with your mind. I've had offers for buying Zotac and MSI cards for as low as 52,000 but I rejected them and instead been waiting for weeks just so I can buy the lower priced FE card instead..
nvidia probably isnt getting FE cards supply anytime soon

I wonder if they're artificially limiting the supply. samsung 8nm fab doesnt have backlog of orders like globalfoundries 7nm fabs

Are there any reference cards being launched yet for the 3000 series? By reference I mean those basic dual fan exposed pcb el cheepo cards from inno3d/galax/Palit/gainward/zotac which usually sell around same or below the FE.

Once those cards start coming in they would be great bang for buck. I don’t see the point of spending a 10-20k premium on these triple fan cards. When the most powerful strix/hof/ftw rtx 3070 will fall in performance compared to a bone stock dual fan el cheepo inno3d rtx 3080.

Instead of spending 20k extra on a Asus strix I might as well buy a next tier el cheepo reference card.

I'll just consider it a gimmick in order to sell more. Since the average buyer won't even look up benchmarks before buying.
Anyway looking at the reviews and numbers, its safe to say that one can go for whatever fits the budget.

Me too. Zotac might be my favorite when it comes to Nvidia cards. Cheap or not, their 2+3 years extended warranty is no joke.

Unfortunately due to tdp of the chip, there are no cheap reference cards for the 3080. There are dual fan 3070 cards - Zotac is 51k and MSI is 53k but there are no cheap cards with ga102 chip due to power consumption and resultant heat generation.

Damn, I was kind of hoping to get a basic dual fan version in case the FE never come back in stock.

Can we expect the 3070 to have those cheap reference inno3d/Galax/colourful cards? Don’t think the 3070 has that much power generation.

They already exist. Zotac twinX costs 51k. Doubt it is going lower.
