Have anybody tried Doofy.in cloud gaming?

I came across a stadia alternative in India named doofy.in . Have anybody tried the service? There is no trial option and games should be purchased separately. Looks promising.

Are you playing on your new mac:) Also, should i wait for macbook pro m1 or go with the 2019 model ? any suggestion
Not really a gamer now hehe. Just wanna try the new super hyped up Cyberpunk.

oh man it's no question, an M1 Mac is night and day different from intel Macs. It is indeed amazing. I'd suggest getting the air which is much more vfm if you don't need the fan for sustained loads. A 14 pro is definitely in the works. Getting a 13 pro right now doesn't look like a nice deal.

Hey OP there is review out there on Reddit about doofy.in which claimed that it is pretty good. I too am interested in trying it out but I guess I'll try it with one of existing steam library games. I find the Rs.199/day subscription to be a bit high though.

So I just tried this with the day pass at 199.

First up, I do have the recommended 100mbps connection.

Used an empty steam account I had lying around to jump into CSGO and see if it's playable [obviously I'm not going to use my actual account with this].

First, it took them about 2 minutes to launch the instance for me, once this was launched I was supposed to run the downloaded launcher. The launcher automatically connected with the instance with Steam running. After logging in to Steam, I see a MacOS style dock at the bottom with the Steam and CSGO icons.

Launch CSGO, it takes the instance about 8-10 minutes to install it. Pretty slow if you ask me.

Once launched, fiddle with the settings a bit, video settings were defaulted to mediumish - side note here, somehow it takes 10-15 tries to remap M1. None of the other remaps have issues just M1.
Hop into casual D2, take a minute to fetch server settings, another couple to initialize world, then it loads the map. Again, really slow.

In-game, input feels a little laggy, and the audio lag is at 1-2 seconds. Stream quality drops randomly, but I can't tell if the cause of that is my connection or the server side connection.

After 1 particularly bad quality drop, once the quality recovers, audio lag is somewhat better, but still noticeable.

All in all, not really worth the 999 pm asking price IMO.

I've emailed them for a refund, let's see if I get it.

Update: They've processed the refund.

I've read that. It looked like he was working for Doofy. New account only posts about Doofy.

Thank you so much for trying and the detailed review! That sounds unplayable. Would a single player game be better? They have a gameplay demo of cyberpunk and it looks okay.
Can you please try thegamingproject too if possible? They have a free demo account. It doesn't load on Safari. Didn't install chrome yet.

I doubt it. The input lag and audio lag would still be problematic.

Tried it. Their in-browser demo is a racing game (Grip), and it has very noticeable input lag. Can't tell about audio since I don't have specific cues like gunfire to measure delay from. But it does randomly buffer and not update the frames at all, instead of just dropping the quality like Doofy.

Full disclosure though, I have an ancient low-end system from 2012, so it's possible that some of the lag is due to deficiencies in my machine and someone with a halfway modern system might get better results.

Seeing as Doofy are pretty good about giving refunds (the TAT for my request was about 30 minutes), I'd suggest giving it a go yourself.

Not at all, both of these cloud gaming projects based in India are both not in a usable state. I've tried their in browser demo too and it's exactly the same as you said.

Yes, but they have extremely limited library. On doofy you can play whatever you own.
Just noticed on thegamingproject's site that owned games are available to play with their paid plans.

Yeah that's what I thought. The kind of performance and server-side latency reductions you need for this is not at all trivial to achieve.

GeForce Now with VPN should be worse than these I assume? damn, was excited about doofy. :|
Is there any news regarding Stadia or xCloud for India?

Anything off shore would be unplayable, regardless of whether the service itself is good. The latency from India to the us or mainland Europe is terrible. I have access to an enterprise global network through work and even in that latencies are outside what would be ok for such services, forget about doing that with consumer networks.

Same. We have AT&T's enterprise line at our India HQ, we still have video call issues. Forget gaming !
