Budget Above 40k Is note 10 lite worth the money

My friend's budget is 45k. He wanted to get the note 10+ but it's pricing has not been decreased by Samsung. The next option is note 10 lite. Is it worth the money considering it's a trim down version of the note 10+?
If he buys some other phone say s10 etc., please recommend other one ui phones in this budget, then will the pen stylus work with it? Is Samsung or some other company selling a good pen stylus separately?
Thanks

Edit-

A: Browsing, apps, movies, maybe a little gaming

Buying a samsung flagship then qhd + is a must else buy A series if on a budget as A series have Knox inbuilt .
If no qhd + then why spend flagship money as you spend money on good phone your main draw to it should be a crisp display .
Coming from Note 5 and S9 and S9+ for me .
I also have M31s and F41 .

Flagship money = qhd +
Else any other superamoled 1080p .
Also prefer 6/128 .
Also the new F62 ... I guess from Flipkart upcoming has the same processor as the S10 lite I think. .kindly look it up .

Yes, I still have it...but the battery life sucks now ( it was not this bad earlier, haven't installed anything except some local cab app, Netflix, Poweramp) and the phone has become excruciatingly slow. Factory reset didn't do anything good.
Not sure if I got a lemon ( it worked fine for first 5-6 months)
Only used it for a lot of emails and note taking...and some music, YouTube.
That's it! Never played any games, the storage isn't even half full ( only has FLAC files, pdf, MS office documents)
I liked it a lot during the initial period ( the S pen is really great) but it didn't last long.
Think it's the crappy Samsung Exynos...bought an A50 in 2019, it also didn't last much ( the damn battery!!)
Sorry, can't help you...it WAS a very good phone ( but for 6 months)

TBH QHD or FHD don't matter to the naked eye. It only matters IMO if one is using VR. No need of knox. Note series was selected due to the S Pen.

Wait weren't they selling the SD version of Note 10 lite in India? This being their only phone with SD in India. Maybe I was misinformed.
Do you think the ota updates ruined the phone? Does it hang? His usage will be more or less the same like you.
He is after the S pen. Should he shell out like 25000 more, stupid decision, for the Note 10+ then? Samsung increased it's price from 54400 to 59900 lol
Have you tried those third parties S Pen's? Do they work? He is ready to go for the S10, S20 etc. provided a stylus can work with it.

I bought it in Praha ( Czech Republic) it comes with Exynos (9 something) in Europe.
I didn't update it initially, but after factory reset things were not improving...updated...same..it hangs, lags and SOT is around 3.5-4 hours.

So, should one go for the Note 10+ for 59999 or does it make sense to go for S20 or S21 which are cheaper than that and buy one of those chinese stylus's and see if it works or not?

Such a huge budget and still looking to get only a 4G supporting smartphone? When a lot of 5G smartphones are already available in India and people are buying these, I think you should think of a good 5G smartphone because you can get really good features in these. I understand that these 5G smartphones would not support 5G network because India still does not have 5G network, but it's just a matter of time when 5G would be available. I think it would be available by the second half of 2021 and people do not buy such costly smartphones every other year.
Even if the budget was 20k, you could have got a good 5G smartphone in the form of Realme X7 with MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset. However, since you have all the budget, your friend should go for something like Oppo Reno 5 Pro of OnePlus 8T etc. I am not a huge fan of Galaxy Note series because they do not use good processors and the camera section of the devices is not as good as even the low-coast smartphone. However, if the camera and the performance do not matter to you, you can always go for a Galaxy Note 10 Lite.
You do know that all 5G, even the S21 series, phones available as of today will not support all 5g bands whenever it is released, right? Plus 4g isn't going anywhere for atleast 2 more years unless jio thinks otherwise.
@Tejas01 Bro your comments on this phone and on the 5g thing as mentioned by some other user.

IMO, untill 5g is launched, it's better to adopt a wait and watch approach. Right now there is no clear idea which bands would be supported and made available to end users untill auctions are held.

For Samsung, I would say they have close integration with Jio so there is a good chance Samsung would provide good support for their "flagship" devices even if they purchase a phone when 5g is not available. All tne merrier if their device have Exynos Soc. Can't say anything about Qualcomm Soc as there are so many parameters to consider.

Not to mention, Samsung is notorious for having a biased approach even in flagship devices. So again, choose wisely where you would be investing your money.

Even Mi 10 5g which is a budget device supports only 2 5g bands.. that is akin to current band 40-40 carrier aggregation it currently gives on 4g.

If you can wait, you would have more clarity. If you can't, go for a mid-budget phone and then get a 5g phone at a later stage when the dust settles.

When will things get more clearer? Can Samsung provide support and somehow make their current exynos chip phones pure 5g supported?

Only when spectrum is allocated. It should happen this year. That's one part. After that, there is deployment so I am assuming one year will easily go in this process.
But even these are my guesses. You will have to personally contact govt for the exact date..;)

From what I read on the news on the net, 5G won't be coming to India until mid 2022. There was poor planning regarding the upgrade, and the department did not learn from their past mistakes while launching 3G/4G. They are not even prepared for selling of the 5G spectrum yet, and are lagging behind in the preparations for launch of 5G.

So, it will be a long wait of more than 1 year or more.

My brother and mother have to buy new phones, and we were waiting for 5G this year, but looks like will have to buy new phones soon, atleast for my mother.

I think Ambani should get it done within a year. Even if he does that, will 4g go out of the picture? They might do that like they did with only 4g jio. It will make all 4g phones especially the higher end one's go kaput in a way.
Just saw your post. On the same boat as you. @CapriAnupam

Ambani isn't the government. Until the telecom department starts selling 5G spectrum, things won't start to move. They aren't even selling the spectrum yet.

4G will ultimately go out for picture when 5G becomes widely used, but that won't happen anytime soon. It will take time for 5G to start being widely used. They might start reducing speed for 4G though, like they did with 3G. I mean, before 4G came into picture, 3G speed was decent enough for usage... but how come 3G speed became so low when 4G came out that you could get nothing done at all... horrible speed. They messed up the speed is my guess, to force people to take to 4G.

Yea, I have been watching your posts. Will be interesting to see which phone you go for. You will probably end up buying a phone before my friend, so will be interesting to know your feedback on whatever phone you buy.

@CapriAnupam I think with spectrum refarmed to provide 4g on bands which deployed 3g could be one reason. But yeah, 3g+ speeds could reach as high as 5 Mbps when I used. Now even Airtel 4g+ at times gives 1mbps.
O e primary reason I think for migrating people to 4g would be to bring homogenisation In service quality. 3g was analog, 4g was data. Switching between the two means different infrastructure, equipment and more importantly for end users, drain on battery life.
I still think 4g will continue for another 3-4 years unless there are significant factors which justify migrating everyone to 5g. From my knowledge, 5g will be operating on 4g infra through software upgrade so their co-existence is a must.
@becool773 do let us know which fone you opt for as many people have Similar queries and in the similar price range. Will help others too.

Bhai mere Ambani is running the goberments, be it of any party. I am sure he is using 5g in his personal phone. He will launch it nationwide whenever he is ready.
Sure, if I buy first will definitely post here.

I am not aware of the technical aspects of the spectrum band, so thank you for the knowledge. Makes sense from what you post.

Yes, sometimes in Idea too, speeds are just horrible, and things will refuse to open. Sometimes, even when it showed 4G network on the icon, I sometimes did not get any internet at all. Has troubled me a few times when I was outside and needed auto from the app. Sometimes, network shifts to H+ and that time, speed is just terrible.

My mom has Moto G3, and although it is a 4G phone, and 4G used to run well earlier, but now it works only on 3G.. don't know if it is even 3G ,because it shows E on the icon. Might be a phone problem, because it is old now. Had the SIM changed once, but still no 4G speed.

LOL, bhai, don't post conspiracy theories. I am sure Ambani has some influence on the government, but surely he isn't running it.

I think he said Reliance is ready with the infrastructure for 5G, so yes, he seems to be well prepared.

I think Airtel too did testing of 5G successfully.

I used to work in an industry related to this so I can confirm that he bought everyone within a matter of hours
And there was no fuss about it. BTW SHITtel, L*dafone etc. bought spectrum's of various states in auctions. And this real pm/president got pan India spectrum's without any auction. The reasoning given was that it was done to promote digital India. I can go on and on. But with great wealth comes POWER.
Do you know why the goberment officials refused to meet Bezos last year? Now you will say that he's more rich. Yes he is but the TWP is anti Modi goberment plus he doesn't pay them any donations. So, do the math.
