Yes this is true, Due to the price difference between the Indian and international version apple had to take this step. Indian 12 pro max 128gb retails for 129900 and the international one for 94000/- due to this Apple India was facing sale drop. This applies to devices activated on or after April 1st 2021.
Thanks for confirming

LMAO. Didn't they just recently start offering warranty on internationally purchased iPhones? Earlier it was only available for Macbooks and iPads. I guess they had to appease their dealers, even though they had started solo operations as well. So now, is the blanket ban for all Apple devices or just for the iPhones as it used to be earlier.

If the product is portable, meaning that it can operate independently without a power cord, you may obtain warranty service worldwide. However, service will be limited to the options available in the country where service is requested. If the product is not portable, warranty service may be restricted to the country where the product is purchased. Service options, parts availability and response times will vary according to country. You may be responsible for shipping and handling charges if the product cannot be serviced in the country it is in. In accordance with applicable law, Apple may require that you furnish proof of purchase details and/or comply with registration requirements before receiving warranty service.

iPhones never had international warranty in the first place.
They've always had international warranty. What are you talking about. I've broken my US bought iphone and gotten it repaired in India and also had the display replaced on a canadian iphone that broke in HK.
International warranty was never explicitly mentioned until recently
