CPU/Mobo Question for MSI 4/5xx Series AMD Motherboard Owners

I have manually switched off fastboot and some quick memory boot settings in the bios and the 12 second time is despite all that. XMP is on for me. Try using the default bios settings and see if that improves the time.

Mind telling me where in your BIOS did you found fast boot? I looked all over..also, I noticed my system gets stuck on the VGA Debug LED for the longest time..

Try searching for it in the bios with the magnifying glass icon in the top right corner. I have the downgraded lite bios since mine is a non-Max MSI B450, and the memory quick boot is on the same page as rest of overclocking settings such as the multiplier, dram voltage etc

3-5 min on my msi b450i. As I have only slow hdd. Sometimes it takes more than 5 min(including boot time) to properly able to access the folders and applications.
Whenever I boot my system I just go away and do something else.
Maybe this weekend will make sata ssd my boot drive.

My config is in sig; for MSI logo to appear it takes around 16-17 seconds, few more to see those windows dots circling under it and about 25-26 seconds to see login screen.

I have enabled Memory OC with MemTryIt function; not sure about XMP - gotta check it.

Mate, 3-5 mins, even on a HDD is long, you might want to check if you have a failing drive.

About the same for me.

Thanks to all for checking.

I've attached a pic of the BIOS here. In the bottom of the page there is the memory fast boot setting I was talking about. Try toggling that, if it's available in the non-lite BIOS.
Also it might be worth checking your boot priority order. If your boot drive is down on the list then it means that Mobo is checking the rest of the drives first before checking the boot one, resulting in longer booting times after the POST process is completed. Pic of same is also attached.
EDIT: Lastly, if all else fails, then try downgrading to an older bios version to see if it makes a difference

I have fast memory boot enabled already.
Boot drive set to 1st, I've even disabled all others..
I feel its taking long to search for a GPU.. usually BIOS' have the option to look for discrete GPU, force discrete GPU or ignore discrete GPU, MSI has only look and Ignore.. which IMO is the issue which is why the VGA Debug LED is on for 80% of the time before it completes booting. Can someone else that is running a discrete GPU confirm this is the same with them?

I'm running a dGPU and now that you mention it, yea even I was having this boot time issue immediately after the build. In the lite BIOS there is an option to force VGA which I enabled and since then it's been super fast as it currently is.

Sadly the non-lite version does not appear to have this force VGA

I distinctly remember this option being there in the regular click bios 5 as well when I was using my 2200G with the Vega 64 Liquid on the same mobo before switching it out for the 3600XT, but it was in deep down in some options. Try searching for just "Vga" using the search function via magnifying glass icon in the top right corner. There would be some option named "force VGA" or something, see if you can dig some menus or sth.

I searched for VGA bro..got nothing

I finally got to upgrading the BIOS on my X470 to AGESA 1.2.0.0 and set all timings and speed as per DRAM calculator. Bootup time till POST beep now takes 24 seconds sigh.
