2. However, FAT32 is the only officially supported file system, IIRC. It should be possible to read NTFS or exFAT medias using third party usermode drivers and/or Magisk modules (requires rooting), but the latter isn't even possible for the 2nd gen Cube at this moment.

Thank You for replying my query, Wish this cube or any similar Amazon product can support those file system....Fat32 will be useless due to file size limitation. Fire OS can / must support an external drive.......How come they provide external drive support at Amazon Basic LED panel with Fire OS running but not in Cube which is the only one that comes with a micro USB port.
So now the only Mi TV 4K android box provides that external drive support.....No no other option.

There's no logical answer. Amazon probably doesn't want end users to utilize the Cube as a standalone home media player, rather an enhanced streaming gadget+smart hub combo, thus you need to live with an artificially crippled (but otherwise good) device.
