Exercise bike - what to buy?

Looking for a mechanical (non-motorised) exercise bike. Not looking for something with too many bells and whistles - just something simple and sturdily built. And to bear up to ~75kg. Preferably something in the 10~15k range (can stretch a bit, if there's something irresistible).

Just looking for something to help us ride out the (hopefully) final stretch of this pandemic. Would greatly appreciate links to buy online, decent offers, recommendations, etc. Thank you.

If you have a Decathlon in your city, go and check out their offerings. If not, try and buy from a local store so that you can get service in the future, if needed. For equipment like these, I've found local stores to offer much better pricing unless one lives in Tier-3/4 towns.

Rather than bike, I will recommend a cross trainer from decathlon. Based on your budget they have several options. They are long lasting with very minimal or reasonable maintenance.

Afraid I live in a small suburban town (more a village) and buying from a physical store is not really an option.

Do indeed consider a cross trainer too, if I could find something good around my budget. The important thing being that the machine must be non-motorised, since power cuts are a major problem here.

Decathlon do not have manual cross trainers anymore. Olden days they had manual cross trainers where you can increase friction using a wheel. You can also search used market such as OLX !

Check if Decathlon deliver to your location. Even I live in a small town/village and they deliver over here. On Amazon or Flipkart, it will be mostly third-party sellers for products like these and hence exchange/refund will be difficult in case it is needed later. Decathlon will be better in this regard and their products are also quite good.

Edit - Also if you by chance, already have a cycle at home, you can also buy a cycle trainer and use your cycle on it. That's what I have and it is a much better experience than an exercycle.

Decathlon should deliver to my location. Their range looks to cost a bit more than the average Amazon/FK machines, but will watch out for something suitable.

@saidu - They do happen list some manual machines and some listed as "self-powered" (no clue what this means, but they tend to be the expensive models).

This is not a bad idea at all, and had never thought of it. Unfortunately, I no longer have a bicycle.
