Any experience with green soul executive/office chairs

A little update from my end. I got the chair on Saturday evening around 6pm or so. Assembled it fully and found out that it's seat is not leveled. It's tilted towards right side when sitting (To the left when looking from front).
You can see pics for reference.

I immediately complained on their Email (got just acknowledgement and scripted response) and Whatsapp (no reply) and also called them yesterday. So far I've only got the scripted response like "we're on it, wait for like 24-48hrs" etc. Also on call the person said that if technician visit is arranged then there might be charges for their visit. Like WTF? I ordered a working chair which was supposed to be "Quality Verified" as per their Amazon page, they send me a defective product and now are looking to offload the labor cost for repair on the customer? I don't know what to do here. I thought this would have been a better experience with all the good reviews and a little overpay which I did for a "branded" chair but so far it's not at all what I imagined.

Any tips on what to do next?

Try for a return through Amazon directly.

I would still suggest that you reach Amazon directly while mentioning the unreasonable requests from seller. Open something in parallel with Amazon directly.
I did this and Amazon agent filed an A-Z claim on my behalf. Now within 2 hours someone from Green Soul contacted me and said a technician visit has been arranged and will be attended within 2-3 days and it'll be free. They would send replacement part if the guy says something can be replaced and fixed else if it's not fixable a refund would be provided.

Chair is fine otherwise but slightly tilted towards right when sitting is not good for long run.

Hoping for the best. Thanks for suggestion.

so much for brand value. still need amazon to sit on their head

@enthusiast29 Sorry to here about your experience. So moral of the story for me is: Online purchase of a chair might not be the best idea. Will go to a physical store and then buy. Do let us know what happens next - Refund or replacement.

Further update on my case, the technician came today and inspected, although he said visually he can't see the difference in the seat level from right and left I was keen that there is and I have taken measurements of the same to prove. Not sure why he wasn't able to feel the difference even when he sat on it. Then he measured using his tape and there was indeed a difference of about 0.5 inches (a little less than that) but for me it was very noticeable.

He removed 2 factory installed screws on the seat-plate from the side that was shorter. Installed screws and a buffer from his spares and for the other side the factory screws were kept as-is. This made the seat level to the side which was higher before. So all is good now.

My conclusion for the whole scenario and Green Soul is that they are definitely selling the same non-branded local chairs with their logo stamped on it. Also the Quality check might not be upto mark and you may get a defective seat but at least it comes with 1 year manufacturing defect warranty and 3 years of total warranty. Sure the prices according to local market is higher but in return for that you're getting free replacement parts if needed for upto 3 years. Their response was decent and helpful once I was in touch with a dedicated person for my case.

I don't think you'll get that kind of warranty or support on local chairs offline.

Coming to the chair overall it's very comfortable and I sit on it like 10-12 hrs per day without fatigue. You may experience sweating if in a non-AC room for longer hours but that's the case with almost all chairs.

There you go. I was writing this as you posted :p

Hmm..all is well that ends well then. Happy with the outcome for you. However, I feel based on what you narrated that had Amazon not interfered, you would have been in a bit of a spot.

Maybe yeah but they had acknowledged my complain and told me to wait 24-48 hrs for someone to reach me out which so happens to be just 2 hours after I file a claim on Amazon.
Also one can file the claim upto 30 days of purchase so it's an additional benefit I guess.

Besides amazon I've seen a lot of reviews and happy customers with after-sales service experience on youtube and in amazon reviews. So I hope it'll be good in future. Time will tell... At least here we have someone to chase after if some issue arrives otherwise in local there would be nobody to look upto and you'd be on your own to get it fixed or repaired locally which could cost you too with the replacement parts.

I bought Green Soul Crystal-V2 in Feb'22.

Earlier I had a unbranded (100% same as Green Soul Newyork) chair that was more comfortable and working great even after 4 years (wheel base was replaced one year ago because a couple of wheels were broken, after/before no other problem). I changed just because I wanted change.

I am not much impressed with Green Soul chair. They are same like unbranded / Chinese imported chairs, they just put their brand name on the chair.

1. There were supposed to be two Allen keys but smaller one was not there. No problem, I have those. No resolution provided by company.
2. Hydraulic cover was not there. No resolution provided by company.
3. Reclining lock does not stay in locked position and all of sudden, unlocks itself multiple times a day. No resolution provided by company.
4. Armsrests keep on moving back and forth with slightest of pressure while sitting, getting up, etc. No resolution provided by company.

I have contacted Green Soul CC multiple times. They prefer whatsapp communication but their reply comes in 1-2-3 days. So the conversation keeps going on for weeks. BTW, it is still going on.

They have good reviews on Amazon, so may be my chair is an exception or they themselves write reviews. Even verified purchase reviews can be manipulated by buying at your known's addresses, get it delivered, sell it again. all you loose is Amazon commission.
Okay, so after sending videos on whatsapp of loose armrests and lock/unlock problem, they sent me a new main mechanism (below seat) and armrests. I requested them to send armrest which does not have option to move back and forth and they sent that pair of armrest.

I got them yesterday and changed all received parts. So far, it looks that problem is solved,

This is exactly why I went with Green Soul too. I mean you won't get this kind of support and free replacements in local chairs you buy offline especially for upto 3 years.

I faced issue too but was resolved within the week. A little premium for after sales support is fine for me.

True, I agree with your points about local sellers unless you live in a small city or town where more personal equations are shared with business owners.

So finally, I got my chair too. Scouted shops locally and got one for 4300. Delivered half an hour ago. Now to use and hope it lasts long enough. Local warranty of 1 year on a hydraulic lift and 'technician' :p will visit if need be but there will be visiting charges. But I am hoping no such scenario will arise.
-The armrest can be adjusted for height.
- It can tilt back just enough for a person to take a nap so I am guessing it has 135-degree tilt. As this mattered to me, I did test it out at all the shops.
The seat material is not leather ( thank god for that in the summers)
Rest, so far so good. I will update after a few days of use I guess.

@nemo_online awesome, looks like you struck quite a bargain. IDK if it's me or it's the pic but the back doesn't look very straight to me. Maybe you have tilted it a bit. I like it being perfectly straight when I work and touching/supporting my lower + upper back till my shoulders.

The castor wheels look like the usual ones which are readily available not sure how long these last. My old chair had these and a couple broke off from the wheel cover area. Green soul one had different wheels and base. Not sure about the durability in long run.
Seat cover is also mesh which for me is idk how to put it a bit scratchy/rough. Green soul again had normal soft fabric. I wanted that specifically.

Overall it looks really great for the price you paid, hope it works quite well for you.

If you live in a city with at least some IT Industry prescence, check olx etc. You'll find shops selling refurbished chairs. You can go, try them out etc
I splurged for a featherlite optima mesh hb. Got it for 9k

@enthusiast29 I don't know about the back. haven't done anything. Seems fine when I sit.
The wheels are ordinary plastic and I just hope they last fine. I am also not sure about the durability in the long run but just banking on the fact that I won't be moving the chair around a lot.
Rightly observed about the seat cover, it has a plastic cover on it for the time being. Let's see how it goes.
Bottomline - You get what you pay for and I think I got the quality that can come at this price. Obviously, branded chairs might have a better finishing, and durability might be also more. I am just banking on my good handling and normal use of the chair, I guess, to get me through for at least a couple of years.
Just a note for anyone who might be reading this in the future - If you weigh more than 100kg, it is not a good idea to go for non-branded chairs like mine. It will be best to invest in a heavy chair.

Already purchased the chair but thanks for your recommendation anyway.

Lol reading every post in this thread has not helped me to clear the conflict I have regarding which brand would be better in teams of durability, comfort. Green Soul, Featherlite, Godrej, Wipro.... Gah...

My advice would be - There is no best brand and it all depends on what is your budget and how much of an appetite for risk you have. Beyond that, you can only trust your research skills and hope for a bit of luck everywhere. :D
