The video link shared above also shows otherwise.. i have a to link Archer c6.. i couldnt do it on that.. it works as access point but i still don't get the range i need

there are videos that says its a bad quality product so I am confused now, Its cheap but will it last as my use case is simple. I just need to extend the range of my wifi which can be done with any cheap but reliable router.

I have same Archer C6 and I've used my old MR3020 to be used as repeater, it worked but didn't do a good job. I've blamed it because this router is pretty old and we can expect some issues.

I got a dual band extender that am using but while connected to the extender, speed goes down by about 50%.. so need something better.. not sure of my options..


Also what i have realised the jio router actually has a better coverage than my router.. but i hate the admin interface of the jio router

I think that's how extenders work. The bandwidth is supposed to be cut in half because they can't provide you full bandwidth since they need to communicate with the upstream router wirelessly using "half channel" and the other half is used for your devices connected to the extender.

Only way you can get full speed is if you extend it using LAN.
