It's using your RAM for reading/writing data temporarily. First time loads into the RAM will be same speed but later it'll obviously be faster than secondary storage speeds until the data is cached in RAM. Vice-versa for writing, writes to the RAM first at blazing fast speeds and data is immediately accessible to you in disk location but it's not actually written to disk at that time but later.
Comes at the cost of using your RAM more.

Maybe you enabled full performance mode in Samsung Magician. It is indicated by RAPID status being enabled.
