What are your thoughts about 32" 165Hz model at 23K? https://www.amazon.in/dp/B09YDJ75SH

I know it's VA Panel but will it make a huge difference? I currently using 22" non-gaming IPS 1080p display by Acer.
Not sure how good VA panels are.
All I have heard and read from everyone on internet is that IPS is way to go .

But since VA panels are still being produced it might not be bad too .

I am satisfied with the monitor I have . Not wowed but definitely a good experience for gaming and movies too .

Plus my GoPro videos and all look pretty nice too.

VA panels are best of the both worlds.
Combination of TN & IPS.

Then why do people always insist on IPS? I am in market for a 22 inch monitor and was considering this one and someone here too has it. I see all 22 Inch IPS monitors in 10K+ range. I don't understand a lot about VA and IPS and I did check some youtube videos of comparison but overall all say get IPS.
At the end of day, I will use the monitor in not any random angle, it will be in direction of eye sight so not sure of the wide viewing angles etc. matter a lot or not.

I was planning to wait till prime day but I am not sure if it is worth as I expect max 10% discount and still that means I will be paying 9K+ for IPS Monitor but I am asking myself if I actually need IPS.

The monitor is intended for a second screen for my primary work laptop and will also be used for watching videos and such with a connected fire stick.

Check with this comparison once:https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ho...-whats-the-best-display-panel-technology/amp/

TN means faster response times but not visible from all angles all colors
IPS means great colors but slower response times
VA means best of both worlds ( somewhat faster response times along with great colours)

Because before I bought my 27inch BenQ VA panel I researched many reviews and bought it.

It depends upon ones budget.
Faster response times of IPS monitors are costly than VA panels so it all depends on one's budget.
That's the point.
If I am getting faster response time as well as great colors for cheaper....why people still go for IPS?

I am also trying to understand this so please don't think I am starting to argue with you.

Older VAs were pretty bad. Especially with the viewing angles. That's why most people are skeptical. The new ones are great for most use cases unless it needs extreme color accuracy. I always used IPS ones and hated VAs until I bought the G7. So if you are going for a VA make sure it's the newest panel. You won't find any differences from an IPS and plus you get a better contrast ratio.
Just keep in mind a good VA panel is going to be expensive.

I too have same queries. I want to buy a monitor soon and although I can wait for prime day, I am not sure if there will be any discounts on the IPS monitors which are selling for 10.5K types on amazon right now. There will be bank offers and all but not base price decrease I feel.

I am inching towards getting the Acer VA Panel one which is 7800 and with citibank card if someone has, I can reduce another 780 I feel. But am I doing it right, I don't know.

I don't want to end up spending like 10K for almost no perceivable difference.

FYI, I have not used actual computer monitor in last 10+ years, have been using laptop since 2010 or so.
VA panels are good if all you do is office work or watch movies but the ghosting intolerable while gaming.
These are exact 2 reasons I want the monitor for, office work as second screen of laptop and fire stick attached to HDMI (may be using some 2 input 1 output adapter) for watching videos etc.

Then go for whatever is cheaper except TN

VA panels are visually quite stunning to look at with almost OLED like inky blacks. Its just that they usually have abysmal black to white response times and that causes noticeable ghosting in darker scenes.

so they are better than IPS in visuals.
I see reviews on Amazon says people are using it for gaming too.

when researching for monitor I completely ignored VA panel as something of last gen and was only checking out IPS .
I wish I knew this before would helped make even a better decision.

Newer IPS monitors are even better they have higher refresh rates, lower response times and better viewing angles and color ratio is better compared to VA and TN

Most here are budget buyers (mid range )
IPS newer ones are on expensive side.

We mostly looking for what is best to go for in mid range ( 15k-30k) VA or IPS.

yes correct around 13 to 15k for 1080p IPS with high refresh rate
and 26 to 30k for 1440p IPS high refresh rate

but if you dont need high refresh rate than

10 to 12k for 1080p IPS with 75hz
and 22 to 24k for 1440p with 75hz
4k to around 28k with 60hz IPS

My budget is even less than yours. I want a 22 Inch for under 10K and I have doubts that even on prime day if there will be something. I am making peace with the fact that their price on amazon will hover between 10K-11K and possibly on prime day, I may be able to somehow shave 1K from that price using bank offers.
It is wishful thinking that amazon will reduce the price and on top of that I will get bank offers to even reduce the price.

I am still not sure if I should get VA or IPS but I also don't want to compromise as monitor is not something I will change for several years and will want something good but not really splurge unnecessarily.

I have already got a monitor ( acer ips 2k resolution 27inch paid about 21k) .

Your needs are very clear office work and some movie . So you don't need anything expensive and you also need a small size 22inch).

If I was in your place I would go for any of the two VA or IPs which ever I find cheaper and from good brand .

I remember someone point out acer 22inch VA panel to you for Rs 8k it was good deal in my opinion( ofcourse check some reviews before buying) but on paper it look perfect for your need .

As for waiting for Prime day ...you can wait and see.

I honestly have lost interest in most Amazon day sales and for Flipkart I don't even visit ( very rarely) .

Most of the time these sales are useless and one has manage to find better deals on normal days .
