Other [AMA] Airpods Pro 2

If you do not need TWS, check headphonezone. You will find lot of options. Bloody cheap but very well tuned earphones. Not from mainstream brands though.
I already own a couple pairs of TWS so that's why I'm not looking for another. I know about headphonezone. They are awesome. I never bought anything from them but still sent them one email appreciating what they are doing.

Can you compare Apple's wired earpods vs Blons? I am looking to get blons if it's an upgrade from earpods.
Blons, but you need to get the 4 core cable and something like spinfit cp100. Also, These things bloody come alive if you connect them to amp like fiio E10K. Heck, even the AirPods Pro 2 cannot match blons audio quality. Soundstage is so much wider.

Well tuned wired IEM any day beats TWS.
I meant the airpods pro gen1
are you sure?
yes. There is no point in shelling out 26k when you already have AirPods Pro 1. Gen 2 will sell under 20k in the future when there are sale offers.

Man, you hyped this IEM for me. So blons+4 core cable + spinfit cp100 = almost 3.6K.
Maybe I will get the blon+ 4 core cable first and see how it fits.

What difference does a 4 core cable make to the SQ compared to stock ?
@Ssreek I would suggest just go with stock cable. Only if there are issues with your stock cable (have read that there are QC issues but mine work fine), then only buy a replacement cable.
Similarly check if the stock tips fit well and you get a good seal. If not then buy replacements.

It is simple electronics. Wired still has upper hand over wireless as wires can transfer lot more bandwidth. Proper high fidelity audio is still a pipe dream for mainstream wireless. There are easy hacks on reddit on how to get good fit with bl 03 stock tips. You can try those. For me, the seal is bad when I go for walk or cycling. Even at home, it comes loose.

If you want a simpler one, check the Moondrop Chu. Very good sound but you cannot do any kind of modding. Just works out of the box.

Audio loudness has increased a lot and the soundstage was much better when paired with amp.
Coming to build quality, The one that came with IEMs was cheap and within few weeks the housing around mic came off. It also gets tangled a lot and feels as if it will break if I pull it tight.

That is with the amp and not the cable.
On the build quality, that varies. Mine is working fine since last couple of years.
I compared both without amp and with amp. In either case, the stock cable fared worse. Biggest problem was how it just gets tangled every single time and I had to be very careful not to damage it.

Nothwithstanding the tangling, that is your perception. There is no difference in the signal transmitted between stock and 4/8/12 core cables.

Not going to get into un-necessary 'I am correct' fight. I trust my ears and everyone knows that it is not just about 4-core or 8-core. If the material used in stock cable is bad, it affects audio quality. If the material in stock cable is much better than material used in a 4-core or 8-core cable, stock cable will be better. I believe I do not have to provide any science study/review on materials.

How's the ANC ? Many theories on reddit saying ANC on both Pro 1/2 has been gimped to a great extent. I'm looking to move from XM3s, but still to make a decision.

Pro 1 AMC is good but the ANC on pro 2 is scarily good. It just entirely suppressed airplane engine noise when I was on a turbo prop. Outside, I make sure anc is off. Not safe to walk on road with anc on. Best part is it’s transparency mode. It feels as if you took the pods off when you turn on transparency. Spatial audio for music is overhyped. It is useless unless sound is recorded for spatial audio.

Pro 2 will be massive upgrade over xm3 tws. But do check out xm4. Bose new qc buds have industry best anc right now in TWS and they sound great as well.
I rest my case.
Thank you.

Agreed. I heard a lot of qc complaints on amazon and headphonezone for Blons...Hence did not yet buy the Blons and instead got Earpods for a while.

So Blons and moondrop chu sound almost same??
