Hello,
I have a Corsair CX750F RGB White 80 Plus Bronze PSU. The rest of my build is 12400F, 8x2 Ram, 1 TB SSD, 3 RGB fans, GTX 1060. I was confused whether a normal 3080(not Asus ROG or any other top end ones) would work with my PSU. This is the amazon link of my PSU -

not recommended. get a gold version and you are fine ...

It should work without any issues. But get a gold version. If a PSU fails it might destroy your whole PC with it. Check the PSU tier list from Linux if you wish to buy a new one.

Unless OP's PSU is more than 7 years old I wouldn't bother.
arre I had issue when I got that series at that time. and the engineer told ki aisa hota he as low end psu have less grade capacitor. may be CX750F is better but for bronse series. I won't risk when its a card like 3080 ...

I understand sometimes low tier PSUs have Chinese capacitors but this unit seems good.

Power limit the GPU to 80% using Afterburner or undervolt to around 950mv if you can, that will bring down power draw close to 250w without sacrificing much performance.

I see good reviews for the PSU and it shouldn't cause many issues. Getting a good PSU is always a good investment. I won't recommend you run now and get one asap but if you have a budget it will be a worthy upgrade,

But pls someone tell me why the heck is that PSU costing 10k:eek: when it's only bronze rated.

The seller has changed. When I bought it 7 months ago, the seller was Appario and the price was 6300 only. The cheapest 850W good psu was 9500 at that time which is why I decided to go for this one.

It will run fine. This is one of the best Tier B PSUs as per the tier list. Also combined with a 12400 I don't think it will come anywhere close to its limits.

You can watch Aris' review of this PSU on the Hardware Busters International Youtube channel.

That being said, @yash891 if you have the money get a tier A PSU as suggested. It will last you another upgrade most likely.

Yup will second that.
It would also handle intermittent spikes of RTX 3080 (given OPP is around 128%). RTX 4000 or later series would be a problem if you would upgrade in the future. Hold-up time is 16ms (cost-cutting by the company as only 1 hold-up cap is used) according to Aris, so even though it's enough, I would suggest using a UPS if you face brownouts or flickering lights.

But if you want to have a worry-free upgrade path go with a gold PSU (Consult tom's hardware/Gamer nexus/ PSU tier list for specific models).
As per the above replies, this unit has a good amount of capacitors with mixed brands ranging from Japanese and Taiwanese origin. What worries me is having a single hold-up cap, this may or may not pose a problem in the future but if you are going to run the desktop intensively I would definitely tell you to go with a better PSU because in case a cap or two bursts even Corsair wouldn't help you readily.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I will be on the lookout for any good deals on 3070, ti and 3080. If I get a 3080 then will undervolt it then use it.

6800XT is under 60k, if you are looking for a GPU. IMO top end GPU options are either 6700XT at 35k or 6800XT at 57k, Nvidia GPUs are just badly priced right now with 3070Ti trying to compete with 6800XT.

as your basic question is already answered, I'll say something about your GPU - for 12400F it's better to stick with 3070Ti max, 3080 sometimes get bottlenecked and only worth if you plan on playing 4K. I'm personally buying 3070 since it's more power efficient compared to Ti which gives a minor performance increase. 3070 is good enough for max setting 1440p gameplay until this generation of consoles end. Save your money and use the extra amount to get good tier PSU for future upgrades.

This is my first time hearing that a 3080 will be bottlenecked by 12400F. I am playing on 1440p. Can someone please confirm this?
