Storage Solutions Want to know how to connect this hdd to my pc

I will recommend you go for the cable for 3.5 inch drives, the advantage is that you will not need a new cable in case you need to do the same with a 3.5 inch drive. 3.5 needs external power so the adapter for it comes with a power adapter.

Yes, it will work. I use a similar type of adapter myself,

But I do it for a wider range of application than for storage with a specific HDD. So I bought a model that has provision for plugging in a power adapter for those times when I want to use it with a 3.5-inch HDD. The USB power alone is enough for SSDs and 2.5-inch HDDs but not for 3.5-inch HDDs.

This is the model I use. It cost a bit more than simple adapters but it's worth it, depending on the intended usage.

Yes it will 100% work but why not buy a external hard drive enclosure they are not that expensive and are easy to use and store.

I went with enclosure since my cousin had an extra one and gave it to me , Been using it for a while and seems to be working fine although the speed is slow , wasnt expecting much from a 5 year old drive

The slow speed may be because it's USB 2.0. My adapter is USB 3.0 and the speed is about the same as when the HDD is installed as an internal drive.
