Hello everyone! First of all, I want to thank you all the good wishes and support – it was genuinely great to see. As I hinted in one of my previous responses, my current flat rate of 1.5rs per gram was a little optimistic at best :)

I didn't take into account the extra effort in multi-plate prints nor extra maintenance (cleaning and lubing the printer) nor the effort in packaging and shipping. Needless to say, after a few back to back failed prints, I have a better idea now.

All this is to say, I am proposing a new pricing structure, as follows:
  • Base fee: ₹100 per order (as suggested by another TE member and covers setup time and basic handling)
  • Material cost: ₹2 per gram (up from ₹1.5) for PLA (one print plate in Black/White)
  • Shipping will be agreed upon based on the size of the shipment and distance
More importantly, I understand not all prints are equally difficult or complex so I'm always flexible and open to discussing specific needs for your projects.

Those who have spoken to me will know that I take my time to discuss options and offer advice where I can. I will continue to do so and this adjustment just helps me justify my time & effort. Thanks again!

P.S. For those of you who have already contacted me based on my previous rates, don't worry - I willl be honoring the original pricing for you. :)

Had ordered a few prints some days ago and got them yesterday and finally assembled them all. Some prints needed a little adjusting/chipping and in the process damaged a few pieces of the DMC McLorean I was assembling. Some area can come out less detailed/imperfect but hey it's 3D printed so that's assumed. Pics attached. Apology for the dust, I live on arrakis.

Sharing feedback, thanks.

@slippery what does "multiplate print" mean? I remember you told me about it when I asked for one of the prints.
Can you elaborate?
PS: I have no idea about 3d printers apart from fact they are cool pieces of tech.

Hi, many 3d models have multiple parts which are split across different plates. Therefore, one model essentially becomes multiple models that need to be printed separately. After each print is finished, I need to let it cool down on its own to room temperature (which takes about an hour at least) before I can remove the print (otherwise it can become brittle and prone to breaking). Sometimes I'll include a small plate fee (20rs per plate) to cover the additional time and effort but not always. I try to optimize the layout so as many parts fit on the plate as possible either but sometimes it's unavoidable due to the size or multi-color prints.

Hope that clears things up :)
