Does anyone own a height adjustable standing desk?
If so, which brand and model?
How long have you been owning it and how’s it holding up?
Have you had any issues with it?
Also can you let me know if there’s wobble and at what height and how significant is it?

I’m looking to buy one to hold two monitors and a laptop. But I couldn’t tell the difference between paid review and an organic one. Also there’s not much post ownership review anywhere (India).

Please help out if you own one / use one or have tried one out in person. Please do not redirect to a website or post about a product if you haven’t tried the product in person. Thanks.

I don't have an adjustable desk yet, but I will be buying one soon. I've shortlisted a few different options, I'll share them below.

My first choice is ErgoYou since they are the oldest player in this list. I've seen the Ikea desk at their showroom, but I suspect the electronics might be imported from 3rd party supplier in China. Nothing wrong with that, unless OEM cheaps out on components to make better margin and Ikea does have a reputation for cheap flimsy furniture. Lastly, I have no idea how Artikel is hitting that price point. I have used Artikel products in the past and their quality is better than your average nameless chinese bulk import, but that itself isn't good enough of a reputation. I would only risk buying the Artikel desk if you know a happy customer who can vouch for the product.

i personally happen to have two of these in use in my home. Both are from Jin Office.

The first one is a frame only which I have used as a base for a fully custmized top. This one is holding a lot of wieght as the table is 3 ft by 5 ft and is a sandwiched/doubled particle board with a width of about 1.6". Its a manual lever based height adjustment table. The lower leg base is expanded to its maximum 3 ft width. The wobble is present at its maximum height (37") but is not a safety issue for a large size monitor to be tipsy? Yes by its very nature you can expect some play at maximum height which is not present in a fixed frame table. It also depends on how much weight you have hanging or stationed on it. For your specific use case of two laptops and a monitor you can consider the trade off on flexibility vs wobble when you decide. If you happen to be in or around any of the bases of these manufacturers you can request for a personal inspection to decide. Most of them are based around similar specs. The wobble might be less on 100+ Kg capacity ones because they would have a thicker and more robust frame?

The second one is electric, the base single motor electric version. This one also holds approximately 30+ kg as wieght on top. The only thing which i feel is odd when I try to bring it down from the control panel in height, there is very small perceptible jerk. It could possibly be my poor assembly skills which could be causing this. There is no such sudden motion when you try to increase the height though. I did test it throuroughly on the day of assembly by making my son sit on top of it and making it go up and down quiet a few times. For him it was fun! :D

I have moved into the new house and I am still in the process of settling in, so my views are not of long term usage i am afraid as I have been using these for only four months or so.

It says 80kg on the product page, so do you mean 30kg is the weight you have put on it? Also do you think you would be able to raise/lower the desk with an 80kg person sitting on it??

I am looking to buy a desk from amazon this sale, saw some good offers there. So open to any other suggestions from other people also.
 
Yes, the maximum capacity claimed by manufacturer for the motor to function within specs is 80 KG. My use case is at max 30 KG. I have the following placed on the desk.

a 32" LG Monitor 6KG+
a CPU which would be 15+?
A yamaha receiver (7KG?)
3 small speakers (<1KG?)
mech keyboard/mouse etc (<1KG?)
A Logitech driving wheel (3 KG?)
Anything my son fancies as his current object of affection which can be a couple of hot wheels or some toys/gadgets

As for the manufacturer claim of 80KG person sitting on top, yes thats the theory and I last remember some video where the reviewer did exactly that. Cant seem to recollect though atm.

I use featherlite one and I got it as part of incentives from workplace, I've had it for about 4 years now. I feel all standing desks outlive the excitement after a while and now I use their height adjustment feature only once every 2-3 weeks.

Yes the main motivation should be to actually work standing, or working with a walking pad for fitness. Otherwise just for height adjustment it's not worth it.

I went with this around Q3 2023 : Green Soul Alex Multipurpose Electric Height Adjustable Desk https://www.amazon.in/dp/B0C8GFBQQS

No issues yet touch ply-wood (I do not regularly extend it). I feel this will have less wobble when extended because of 4 legs but I do not have first hand experience with other standing desks.

IMHO this one is definetly a better design. Not an engineer as an educational background, but feels like a more robust option compared to two legged ones? Will surely bookmark this if somene asks for an opinion.
