Graphic Cards RTX 5080 FE

I'm sure quite a few people on here have managed to purchase a 5080 FE. I see a lot of varied issues plaguing RTX 5XXX owners including the 5080 (which is of interest to me, especially the FE).

What has the initial experience been like? Plug and play? Troubleshooting required? Crashes? Black screens? Driver issues?

Plug and play with some rare driver issues.. for eg: was pplaying LOU2 yesterday and 1 segment of the game.. it was unplayable with Frame gen ON, had to turn it off to get it play smoothly. Had a temprature sensor issue which was fixed in the latest driver.. so yeah but nothing broken imo.

Plug & play for me, no issues other than some crashing in CoD BO6 MP (likely because of UV though). Currently using the latest driver.

Got the 5080 FE a couple weeks ago — setup was smooth, but I’d recommend a clean driver install (DDU). Performance is fantastic, but I did hit some early black screen issues with multi-monitor + hardware acceleration (fixed with driver updates). A bit of coil whine under load, but nothing major. Overall, solid card with minor early-gen quirks.

Forgot to add earlier but I did reinstall the entire OS. Maybe that's why no issues for me? Earlier DDU has been good for GPU swaps but I didn't take that risk.

Smooth setup, just had to use hdmi for first boot to bios, then displayport worked. Didnt use the latest drivers yet, on 572.83, no crashes, undervolted and overclocked to 3050 Mhz.
Also BTW did anyone manage to get the Doom Dark Ages code? STPL is not replying to me.

My order was before the promo began, so I don't expect to get it.

Always DDU before installing new GPU in your system. This step alone would fix most of the problems people face with regards to a new GPU.

Was it the game or a skin?

its the game as far as i understand.

It's a skin.
Who does Nvidia think is buying its $1,300 GPUs? 5 year olds?

Hey!

Saw your post regarding issues with RTX 5080 FE.

I'm kinda in the same boat, was wondering what kind of issues you are facing?

For me it's the micro stuttering in Windows, with screen flickering and straight up BSODs/black screen.

Looks like it has been reported by quite a few people - I tried DDU/reinstall, changing PCIE to Gen 4, updating to hotfix drivers, disabling Gsync - nothing seems to be helping.

Are you facing something similar? I want to pull my hair out at this point, ****ing hell.

My response:

Hi mate, I empathize. Definitely not something you want to deal with after buying a premium product. It's been a few days since you sent me this message, were you able to find a workaround?

I went through everything you did in addition to the GPU straight up not showing any signs of life. Long story short, my PCIe slot seems to be a bit temperamental and requires me to finesse the GPU into the slot. I did not have any issues with previous GPUs though.. That being said, once the GPU did fire up, I faced a lot of similar issues such as black screens, sub-optimal performance etc. I resorted to updating the motherboard BIOS to the latest version and that seems to have stabilized things.
