Upgraded to 3 x Cloud Gateway Fibers one of them is a backup. Sold one (Max) to another member here via WhatsApp chat too. Still got 1 left. Are you in that Anmol’s WhatsApp group?
Where did you buy the Cloud gateway fiber from ? The IN store doesn’t have it
I was looking to buy one for a good pride

Ubiquiti and TPL Omada make more or less at-par SDN networking equipment.
While the choice may not be as clear if you were in a country where Ubnt is readily available, for folks in India, just select the preferred equipment from the TP - Link Omada range instead.
The pricing, warranty and availability within India makes it a no-brainer over ubnt

Omada sucks and still rip of UniFi straight forward copy everything. Even their SKUs are very confusing

while some would say unifi is a rip off of Meraki.
Subjective opinions aside, all SDN wifi equipment will naturally have a similar looking central interface.
Even the underlying APIs and protocols used would be very similar..
What matters is the performance , price and ready availability of equipment
Actually not a rip off but it’s a disruptive alternative. And depending on performance the UI still miles ahead of Omada. Only thing is availability in India compliance issues sucks here.

It depends. UCG-Fiber is decent VFM. Option to not just network but add an ssd and use as NVR.
What you said was true before their new lienup and recent software upgrades.
At similar vfm I'd always prefer non-chinese stuff. Only prefer chinese, when the CCP is subsidising my purchase lol
Also my experience has been that Networking is really prone to issues, and getting a good one once is better than changing every few yrs. My Netgear R7000 has served very well.

I was on a r7000 a long time ago.. great piece of kit but needed better coverage (house has 2 floors ) and 2X separate APs wasn't cutting it.
Moved to Netgear Orbi - quite neat but had the typical issues associated with consumer grade equipment that started getting noticeable once covid and wfh happened
So around late 2020 , I Opted for Omada over Ubnt based on a colleague's recommendation for a total of 6APs (AC ) covering around 3K sqft.
With this, I would get a perfectly stable min of 500mbps and peak of 800mbps with zero lag roaming (handled by an independent controller)
Recently I upgraded 2 of the APs to Wifi 6 2.5gbps units (the rooms that are used most often for work) - not a great idea in hindsight since wifi 6 really shines in very high density environment .
My requirement is dense by home user standards (about 80 clients) but not at all taxed on equipment designed for SMB offices.
So the only real benefit I got from it is that the max throughput in those rooms reaches just over a gigabit - not worth it IMO
For router, I use opnsense so don't have any CCP/snooping concerns per se - But more importantly, I have not seen any outbound traffic on the firewall from the equipment itself , unless of course I enable the cloud access mode.
Earlier this year I added a similar setup in my native place house (Patna) - but this time, I deliberately chose low cost equipment but several units of the same - (Omada EAP235 wall plates)
This time around, I knew that it is far better to get absolutely stable very good speeds as against peak speeds with a lot of variance by location.
So I ended up With 8x EAP235 (interiors of a 2 floor house) an OC200 controller + the 2 older EAP245 units from my house for the parking/ backyard
My total bill for the setup was under 35K but the stability is rock solid and min speeds don't drop below 400mbps anywhere over an approx 6000 sqft coverage span
While Ubiquiti may have been as good or same in terms of performance - finding the equipment given the lack of availability here would have been a massive PITA
And it is highly unlikely it would have cost me anywhere near this ballpark .
A prettier UI would have been nicer - but at the cost of patchy availability and questionable warranty despite spending more.
On a side note, I am really finicky when it comes the stability and overall quality of my home network(s) - with almost 5 years of using Omada SDN in what I would term as a fairly demanding / complex home network setup, I would gladly recommend it for any home usage scenario

Stability is the reason why i haven't given up on R7000. With Tomato custom firmware it's rock solid. Have TP link Decos setup as hardwired access points, to aid the wifi. 1 on each floor solved all my speed issues. And i have approx 700-800mbps everywhere basically 5ghz.(unnecessary since internet speed is 200mbps.)
While this setup was extremely cheap and stable for my needs, changing usage patterns demand more stable and modern hardware and higher speeds. So have ordered UCG fiber and some u7 lite (wifi-7 but no 6ghz). These are relatively cheap and give better coverage and most of Ubiquiti's Unifi range features. I expect these to be good for next 5yrs atleast considering the UCG-Fiber is equipped with a quad-core ARM Cortex-A73 processor running at 2.2 GHz and 3 GB of system memory, ensuring robust performance. Almost all specs are 5-10 times better than current hardware. Can always swap out the APs as needed.
Yes availability is an issue but import is a one time problem. These will make it to India store eventually in a few months I gather as the decision to free up 6ghz for personal use is almost finalized. Decided to import cause its cheaper if you're a tiny bit lucky.
And honestly I'd prefer either class leading hardware for a little more that lasts a lot longer, without risk of shady Chinese hardware, that idea is kind of good for me. Or I'd prefer hardware that runs open-source stuff.
I don't have any such critical usage either, but it's a preference given how Chinese networking equipment performance has always been underwhelming for me. The software side inconsistencies drive me mad. There was a time when I went through multiple Tplink routers in 6 months. All were highly reccomended vfm models. Giving about 10-20ms latency in just pinging the router ip.
