Hormuz is next to Iran. I don't think you can just shift from another geography and dominate the strait next to another country just like that until there are bases nearby. Conducting air strikes is a possibility, by dominating seas is a whole different game in my opinion. Only time will tell.

Japan's decline is gradual and has been going on for a very long time. I think the Indian market is well shielded from it. USA's debt is also very high for decades, and it's only going to increase. Of course, if the market panics, this will be a disaster unfolding.

People were fed up with the regime and this regime gave them more chance by throwing a very lavish party..." it is called the mother of all party" costing almost 2 billion Swiss Francs. Imagine the expenditure would even make Ambani's wedding party look like small treat for close family.


And people always want change too. They wanted to go back to religious roots and now they again want to go back to modern liberal life( if i am correct) I dont know what exact sentiments are of the Iranian people but that lady who was killed for not covering the head properly and then the protest that followed and one girl who walked naked in college to protest.

Hormuz is also where USA's Arab allies, USA's middle east military bases, etc. exist. Also, USA is the top country in the world which can lead a war from sea with their mega sized warships. In yesterday's attack, tomahawks were sent from several warships.
Iran is all hollow talk with grandiose stance, that is the reality. The only hope they had was a nuclear bomb, which is almost over now. They are lucky if they got a dirty bomb to negotiate that leadership can escape.

A proper coup will be between hardliners vs chronic liberal wannabees. In countries like this there is a tendency to go more harsher, see how Syria is shaping up. Western media is indeed hogwash. So, we can only sit in the gallery and guess how things workout, nothing is guaranteed.
