I stay in Perungudi but soon moving to Thoraipakkam (buying a flat there, almost in final stage). In Perungudi, it's not as horrible as many people have reported, but voltage definitely goes down by about 7 PM or so and picks up only way beyond midnight. I have never measured the input voltage...

Alright so if it doesn't use up the neighbour's voltage, where is the extra voltage coming from? Is the stabilizer generating it on it's own? One more thing someone mentioned. If AC needs 220 volts and currently only 170 volts is available, it consumes more current and thereby puts more strain...

I live in Chennai too... can you point me to a few places? I checked in OMR area and none have Sharp. Someone suggested Rathna Fan House in T. Nagar, yet to check it out. Their website doesn't have any Sharp ACs listed though.
