Your Gaming Backlog/Progress Report!

Thanks for the inputs guys.

I'll start with Tomb Raider. I stopped playing it sometime ago as it felt off with KB and Mouse.

Stray, while I have finished it may give another go with the controller.

Any other game that's easy-with-controller you guys recommend?

HORIZON ZERO DAWN is another option.

For controller friendly, look for games where combat is largely close range or slow. God of war comes to mind, it's really good with a controller.

Any game which relies on aim accuracy will be less fun with a controller. Especially if it needs you to aim fast. I stopped playing RDR2 within 2 hour because I had to repeatedly keep aiming and it was really frustrating with a controller, especially with no aim-assist.

BTW, a new Indie game called Planet of Lana released recently and was available on Day 1 on Game pass. It's a short game, but really enjoying the visuals and the sound. People who like Indie games should give it a try.

I finally completed Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4 last week and god, what a series!
Halo 4 hit hard with that ending (which I read was ruined by 343 in Halo 5).
ODST was surreal and kind of a different experience. Halo 4 had some of the best weapons in the series so far.

Loved them. Now, to view the summary of Halo 5 (as no Xbox) before I start Infinite...

Recently finished RE4 Remake.

Now, I'm a HUGE Doom nerd. Never finished Doom Eternal for some reason (finished 2016 twice). Almost done with the main campaign. Ancient Gods Part 1&2 after that.

My god, Eternal makes 2016 seem like Kindergarten in comparison :hungover:

Completed AC: Valhalla.

Boy oh boy... this game got tedious towards the ending. It just dragged way too much and the amount of stuff you have to do in the map is absolutely crazy! I'm glad I stuck to the main missions because all of the Shire conquering one after another and pacifying England made me challenge my sanity. Glad it's done and I can finally uninstall this. Not even going to bother with the DLCs.

Way too bloated of a game. I never bothered after Origins.

Looking forward to Mirage, though.

Bloated is the right word! I mean the map is TEDIUM redefined!! What were they thinking putting that many World Events, Wealth Collection points, Raids, River Raids? The list on useless and non-rewarding things to do in the game is atrocious. Also, I felt dialogues in the game are very bland and hammy.

I started odyssey and immediately felt bored because the gameplay was exactly same as Origins, which itself had felt tedious.

The thing I disliked about AC was that there's no variety in the gameplay, it's pretty much the same from start to finish. Games like HZD, GoW, Last of Us, etc. mix things up. There are different types of enemies, varied locations with their own challenges, various weapons which allow different combat styles, etc. AC had the same set of weapons and enemies throughout. Only the part with the ships introduced a little variety, but that also got old pretty quickly.

Started Project I.G.I.: I'm Going In (PC)

20+ years have passed. Was in school back then... such a classic game this is!

Tried NFS Unbound via Game Pass. It was underwhelming, stopped playing after an hour or so. The cartoonish effects & characters do look bad to me personally, partly the reason I didn't like it. I did play NFS Heat for 4-5 hrs at least, but got bored of that as well. Sadly NFS just isn't able to compete now. Still the only major game with cop chase mechanics though

Even with its issues, FH5 is still the best arcade racing game out there IMO.

Too bad the studio making the prequel went under just last month

Yes bro and the worst is they released a Trailer for the game which was so good! The lighting, stealth mechanics, ambience seemed so fitting for an IGI title but all over now. Unless some other company picks it up and makes it again...

Just finished Dying Light, its a gem of a game with a very weak start or maybe its because I didnt like jump scares. The game gets easier once you craft a bow/ reach survivor level 9 for gun ammo. The grappling hook for parkour is just *chef's kiss* on top. this game is way underrated, atleast in my circles. Looking forward to the new dying light 2 update to start playing that

I actually had the opposite experience. I thought it was awesome at the start, esp remember the first time i had to deal with those things for first time at night without night vision - run run run. It gets easier once you get night vision, but still very fun. But for me it got boring once i got the grappling hook in 2nd area, maybe it became too easy and there was no tension or gameplay got stale, perhaps level became too open.

Finished Metro LL some time back, playing through dlc missions. Fun game, not the best game ever but decent enough. dlcs so far have been fun too with only one exception ( heavy weapons one ).

I have never used night vision, the night environment is just so good, specially when you get a few volatiles on your ass XD, you need to increase your difficulty to hard or nightmare, normal does get easy after you achieve survivor level 9, I grinded stuffed turtle for a while just to get some legend levels for volatiles, after that nightmare is really fun to play. Also Dying light 2 update is sounding really good too, we are finally getting some decent night chases with volatiles on roofs too.

Finally.....after a lot of grinding, dying, grinding, and then dying again n again n again, I did it...I am a Platinum Elden Lord. Started playing back in Jan/Feb

Love this shit so much, I just started a NG+ and a new playthrough with a different build. This shit is addictive.

Note: For anyone hesitant to start this game due to time constraints or whatever, this game is generations ahead of its time and you can enjoy it without subjecting yourself to misery. I would highly recommend trying it at least once.
