FS: Mobile !SCAMMER!

5 days old profile, 0 ratings. I guess it's safe to pay only shipping price in advance when the seller profile is like that.
Yep had considered all this but he sent additional pics as i requested them so I guess I got false sense of security
Nevertheless, my brother works at NPCI and i've reported the same to him so atleast the scammer's account will be blocked so he'll incur losses.

Just file a CyberCrime complaint, contact your bank for the fraudulent transaction (works for UPI as well - and is very effective). Many UPI apps allow to raise a dispute right from the app itself (Phonepe, PayTM, GPay etc). Most likely his bank account will get suspended, less likely (but ideally) but police will fetch his KYC details from his bank and pay him a visit (a guy got pretty roughed up by UP police for a case of mere Rs 2100 - in a case I closely followed).
In any case, at least he will have to open another bank account to scam someone else.

Gpay does not have the feature it seems, all others have it. I have reported it to my brother and via the npci site so atleast he'll have to get a new account to scam someone else

At the risk of getting banned myself, I am sorry, mods, but it was a stupid-ass decision to let anyone create a new profile and let them purchase buying-selling privileges. The previous 25-posts requirement wasn't foolproof but at least it allowed to see us if a member was serious around here, and most of these chindichor scammers do not have that much patience. It was a good fence to have.

This guy was promoting scam sites like Sahi Value in the forum. Saw comments like 'recent Sony Xperia phones at 14-15k'.

I am not sure if these marketplace listing posts need approval before going public, (Like they used to for Recruits before Recruits were denied outright access to Marketplace), but if they don't, they need it. The original post seemed okay though, so it is highly unlikely that it would have gotten filtered out. What followed in the DMs showed the actual red flags.

it personally took me months to be "eligible" to make sale threads. I had to contribute across many threads and places in the forum to get going.

many others, like me, have patiently waited to be able to sell items, and buy without issues.

currently, there are a few members I'm comfortable shipping devices to and get payments in a flexible manner, and those people do the same as well.

in this case, it's the price we pay to be accomodating and very inclusive of new people in a naive manner.

Should make it a rule that an account has to be somewhat old (3 months or 6 months) and have some specific amount of community points (which can't be earned by just commenting but by actively being helpful, sharing, getting likes/points by other members) before they can purchase any privileges here. I have seen lots of new sale threads which seem appealing at first but I have refrained from buying from unknown/unverified accounts.
