I’m in my mid-20s, and I’ve noticed a significant increase in hair fall. I’ve tried Indulekha Hair Fall Shampoo, but it didn’t make any difference. Are there any other over-the-counter products that can help with this? Every time I run my hand through my hair, I see 3-5 strands falling out, which is very concerning. My mother is experiencing similar issues as well.

I’m considering seeing a dermatologist, but after reading reviews of the commonly prescribed medications, it seems that the side effects might outweigh the benefits.

Could you please suggest some effective products to help with hair loss? It’s quite scary.

My bother however doesn't have a hairfall problem. Is it still genetic?
If 2 people of the family facing similar issues, it's better to meet up with a specialist..
Dont go for, over the counter stuff...
Get it diagnosed and then proceed.

These medicines tend to cause side effects to the tune of causing erectile dysfunction..yeah you heard that right and also give rise to other skin allegories. It is best to consult a dermatologists who will 110% suggest a minoxidil spray for 3-6 months along with multi-vit supplements for hair growth etc. Again, it all differs from case-case!
Dont do any self-experiments else you will harm yourself to the level that you might have to resort for a complete transplant.
Telling as I know someone who got an mmbs degree from YT, googlee and pharmacists experiment and lost all his hairs and now even transplant isnt working for him and he also got a few skin allergies! No medications are working on him as of now!

Thanks for the input. Does Minioxidil have severe side effects?

You need to decide whether you want to label your issue as hair fall or hair loss.

Hair fall is temporary. You can experience more than usual amount of hair fall due to bad weather, lifestyle changes, extreme stress, vitamin deficiency, medical procedures etc. Fixing the underlying cause stops the hair fall.

Hair loss is when you notice that hair density, thickness, strength etc are decreasing over time. Generally, non-surgical intervention provides only small improvement.

For hair fall, during try supplementing your diet with biotin, protein and omega 3. Some dietary choices can cause biotin deficiency, e.g., consuming raw eggs. Physical exertion can cause B vitamins deficiency too. If your bar soap becomes mushy at the same time you experience hair fall, then high humidity could be the root cause. Keep your hair short during this time of the season, avoid sticky hair products and sleep in air conditioned room.

Redensyl + Anagain is the new fad in hair loss treatment. It's promising. Look it up. Stay away from Minoxidil and Finasteride unless you are 80 years old. Buy derma stamp and try common hair growth oils and serums with it. Get your thyroid levels checked. Even if your hair loss is hereditary, you can slow it down as you have time on your side.

Meh... that's absolutely normal.

I've tried many solutions for increasing hair growth. Dermatology, Ayurveda, and few home remedies. This is what worked well for me:
1. Get haircut done every 15 days. (Yes this works the best)
2. Regular oil-massage (soft-hand-Champi) almost every few days, it should keep your scalp well oiled (use non-sticky premium virgin coconut or some onion oil ayurvedic mixtures)
3. Ayurvedic Onion shampoo once in 3-4 days, il check the brand.
4. Natural protiens, like Paneer. Natural Green leafy vegetables. Healthy food intake every 3-4 hrs. Avoid any body building supplements.

I know its an unusual solution, but it worked well. and no side effect to above remedies.

And even after all proper medicinal and diet intake if you are stressed, anxious, depressed and face irregular sleep then better live with the condition as 100% nothings gonna work your way!

Google for pics of the richest man in the world.

If all that money can't make his hair grow back, then there is nothing that can help you. Accept it, make your peace and stop worrying, else your remaining hair will also fall off. Any recommendations you get is just placebo. There's no magical substance that can regrow your hair: your genes decide how your hair.

Stop running your hand through your hair "to check". This can weaken and pull out your existing hair.

Hair will fall for everyone. This is what limits the max length it will grow to if allowed. Otherwise everyone would be like Rapunzel.

Check you gut health and if there is any bloating, abdominal pain and any such digestive issues. Treating the gut issues is step 1 for any kind of lifestyle health problems. Get basic blood tests and supplement nutrients appropriately. Food alone is not enough.

Then prioritise early sleep. High quality sleep heals a lot of things. (Early deep sleep = increase in HGH)

Use rosemary oil + coconut oil. Rosemary oil is almost as potent as minoxidil without side effects.

Erectile dysfunction and fluctuations in blood pressure is common...you know the story behind minoxidil how it was discovered...
So...In 1979, the FDA approved Minoxidil as an oral tablet treatment for high blood pressure under the brand name Loniten. But some patients reported unexpected hair growth while taking Minoxidil, and researchers eventually discovered that applying a liquid form of Minoxidil to the scalp could promote hair growth.

Been using minoxidil as per my prescription for past 2 years and it have been very helpful in maintaining my hairline.

Consult a doctor before you proceed
