I think we better use resources to educate everyone and make life better in India, instead of trying to make people learn a different language for no reason.
Agreed. This time is not for distributing our resources into pursuing multiple goals. As much as we would have liked to have one language to communicate through the country(english already does that well enough though).
We don't have the bandwidth required to do that. Even if you somehow convinced whole nation to adopt Sanskrit ( more likely for hell to freeze over), you will have to pour a gigantic amount of physical and human resources into making it viable.
All the technical books are in english, anything seriously advanced in any field you are going to find it in english. Translating all of this and teaching generations of people from scratch is going to be a tall task.
We could say our original identity is going to be wiped out, yes it is diminishing. But these are the hands we have been dealt with. We ourselves can dedicated some time to learning, properly learning our mother tongues, read literature in them which is freely available and introduce new generations to them and inspire them to pursue a career aligned with them.
But as long as we hope to be serious about technology, english is the way to go.
Comparisons with France or Japan or Germany is disingenuous at best and straight up evil at worst.
Now is not the time to stoke the feelings of linguistic chauvinism. Now is the time to act and try to be best at our own careers and build the nation the best we can.
We all were taught about climate change and the impending doom. Do you think we are prepared for whole of our coastline to submerge, we are not. We can't even cope with yearly floods or draughts save disasters of the scale that are about to come.
Unemployment is at peak right now. And we will lose the "youthful population" advantage in around 2 decades.
Two decades or so, ladies and gentlemen, thats all we have got left to prepare best.
So let's leave these discussions for future generations and lets build a better India and in turn a better World.
