Looking for a low powered mini pc

I have been self hosting on my raspberrypi 4b 4gb for the past two years. I feel like its time to upgrade the setup. A low powered mini pc like the n100 would just do fine.

What system do you guys use generally for self hosting.
I had a look at skullsaints mini pc. All the specs mentioned was good.
I am planning to install proxmox on the mini pc. But on reddit i read that these pc have a very bad customer care. The lan adapter is bad that it doesn't work with proxmox.

Can I buy this or go with intel NUCs. They are much better and have dual slots for more ram where as this supports only 16x1. But some of them uses a lot of power compared to n100. For Intel NUCs for the price in India can I go with 10th or 11th gen? Or wait for next intel event so the prices go down.

Btw iam using these services hosted in my pi:
  • Wordpress - personal blog
  • Firefly - finance
  • n8n - automation
  • arr stack- linux ISOs
  • Bookstack - notes
  • Npm - reverse proxy
  • and some network tools and stuff.
I am currently in hyderabad so any shop or place suggestions are also helpful.

I came across this site yesterday while searching for mini pcs. Much helpful if you guys have some suggestions regarding this.

I like the enterprise mini/tiny/micro systems that are DDR4 based. They're built to a higher standard compared to the prosumer-grade N100 white-label stuff that's resold everywhere and the manufacturing is far more mature, with many iterations over the years.

They're usually sold as barebones so you'll have to get memory, storage and a processor but this also makes them easier to replace if any one component goes bad. I still have a 4th Lenovo Tiny in daily use long after I've sold off all my other DDR3 based systems.

I like the Lenovo ones but the Dells and HPs are equally impressive.

For reviews, there's https://www.servethehome.com/introducing-project-tinyminimicro-home-lab-revolution/

Most of those models are easily available here either online or refurbishing dealers. @aasimenator also sells a few through his store https://refurbco.in/

There are other members that really like their N100 machines.

i have multiple n100 (new), it uses 7w and works great. yes con is single ram slot, if you can get 32gb ram, that should work great. i have multiple sites, server, linux distros installed and working amazing. i also have 12450h mini pc with 3 storage slot.

here, had to switch few vms because of 16gb ram, otherwise all are great. can share the benchmark with almost no loss in performance.

Multiple? where do you get one? I can see only the skullsaints one available in India. Did you import it or is some other option available here?

Whats the power consumption of 12450h when idle ?

underclocked ryzen`s are the best bet ,buy a b550/x570 board new and start moving from 1 gen to 5 gen processors from market and load up the RAM .Over the time you will be able to get superb upgrades just by replacing processor
