Other Battery replacement for LG V30+

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering what the options are. I see after market batteries for sale on Amazon and Flipkart but I am not sure if I can do it myself.

Thanks

You'll need tools to do it properly.

I don't trust the battery sold by amazon or flipkart. Good source is hard to find.

Order one from maxbhi...have previously used maxbhi for other mobiles...

And go to any local mobile repair shop...will take around 100 bucks for installing the new battery....

If you're going to do it yourself:
1. Opening back panel: warm with hair dryer for 1 min or hot air gun (all over the back in circular motion). Use thin plastic (tempered glass plastic with company logo that you peel off before applying on screen) and cut the glue (see video). This is the only way you don't peel of the paint and scratch the back panel. If it's glass be extra patient and take your time.
Then rest is easy. Just see a video guide. Try not to bend old battery while removing. Old one might be better than new one you bought (Use ip alcohol to looses the glue).
You'll probably only need philips + 1.5 mm screwdriver.

Did you contact the service centre?

They will want a part number so better to have a photo of the battery handy. They can try to get stock. Usually within a months time. Back in 2020 it took them two weeks. Should have bought more than two batteries though. The first one bloated just after a year of use when the original went three years without any issue. The second one seems fine but can't hold much of a charge anymore.

These after market batteries won't last as long as the oem. Half as long costing half as much going by my experience with the V20 which got retired a month back after getting the S23

I haven't. Will check with them.

Any idea what the shelf life of these batteries is? Even if they have any, wouldn't it be at least 2-3 years old.

Will the after market batteries sold in US/Europe be any better?

Those will be same as the generics you get here. If you notice the label for generics matches that of batteries sold in the US.

There may net exceptions with certain brands I'm not aware of though.
LG still provides service for their mobiles ? They got out of the mobile business some time back.
Yes but the phone should be supported for at least 5 years. No harm calling and finding out.

I had to go to that part of the town which has the main LG service center and walked in.

To my surprise, they still have a 'Mobile repair' counter. They have offered to replace the battery for Rs3080. Although the technician told me that it can't be done in any other service center, I will check with the one near my home.

I'd pick up a spare battery or two if they still have them.in case you plan on holding onto the phone longer

Have you checked flipkart home assist? or urban company phone repair? They do source good quality batteries somehow
Interesting solution. Did not know Flipkart and Urban Company offered battery replacement and installation services.
Any idea how much these companies charge for the installation?
