apple tv or nvidia shield?

No.
HDR doesn't work upon enabling Dolby vision unless you select low latency dolby vision.
Even with LLDV, auto switching was not working
So I could either put it in always HDR mode in which case both DV and HDR / HDR10+ would work fine but SDR content would also play in quasi HDR (which messes up color)

or in SDR mode in which SDR would play fine but DV/ HDR content may or may not switch depending on app.

It works fine in LLDV. All HDR/SDR auto switching works fine. The only thing is that LLDV is not really DV but HDR10. The display doesn't do the tone mapping in LLDV, the source does which has no idea of the display's capabilities.

so not fixed yet, it has its oddities
The Homatics box does DV switching whether set to source or sink led
ATV also does dynamic range switching for SDR/HDR/DV without fuss

For some reason, the AOSP implementation on ccwgtv (which should have been correct) messes it up.. wonder if its a hardware limitation instead
