5800x3D as Replacement for 5600x?

I have an AMD 5600x.

Should I get 5800x3D (as they are cheaper)? or is the jump in gaming performance that much with the new CPUs?

My main reasoning is I don't want to spend upgrading to possibly a EoL platform again (did it with AM4). Do we know how long AM5 will last?

5700x3d performance is equal to 7600 performance and 7600 is cheaper then 5700x3d in price. So think about the price of 5800x3d.
AM5 might last until 2027-28. AM4 is already EOL but will last another year or so I think in sales because already almost everybody who has a budget of 80k and upwards budgets are going with AM5 platform. While some are going with Intel 1700 platform like the 12th, 13th & 14th gen and even this is going to become EOL if Intel can provide good processors next year. This year Intel processors are simply waste as nobody are buying them at all.

If you have a limited budget of 50k then go with AM4 5700x3d or Intel 1700 12th gen or else if you have a budget of 80k and upwards then simply go with tried and tested AM5 platform along with B650 chipset mobos

Where are you getting the 5800X3D from? I am looking for one but only see 5700X3D in local markets.

Speed wise the 7600x is equal to or better. But as far as gaming workload goes 5700x3d and 5800x3d are still relevant. Platform is def end of life but if you do have an am4 it’s one of the best upgrades to swap in a x3d chip. If you’re going for a new build. It’s better to go in for an am5 system

Depends on what your upgrade cost is. If you are sticking to AM4 for next couple of years and can sell off your existing one for a decent price, then it is worth it.

Also, the impact on PCIe generation is not much even for the latest GPUs, so that upgrade makes more sense than moving to a new platform right now, especially as AM5 platform will keep getting cheaper with time.

Personally I would rather pay +/-2K extra and get the 9600X than the 7600X if you are looking to upgrade to AM5.

7600x Zen4 is 19k while 9600x Zen5 is 23.8k
7600x is 105w TDP while 9600x is 65w TDP
Not worth it because of the price.

₹22,539.00 Current price is: ₹22,539.00. (Inclusive of GST)

I don't mind paying the extra cost for better performance that is why i said personally i would get the 9600X. IF there is bank offer then even better or wait for the price to drop during sales.

Nobody bought from varietyinfotech anywhere in reddit or here. Thats why I gave from reputed vendor like PCStudio.

Upgrading to AM5: Is it Worth it?
If your goal is to save money, upgrading to AM5 may not be the best option. Upgrading to AM5 requires a new motherboard and RAM kit, which can be expensive. Additionally, the performance benefits of AM5 may not be significant enough to justify the cost.

Alternative Options for Improving Performance:
Now instead of upgrading to AM5 , what about balancing your am4 system?

Q: Do you have good enough ram.
(1) Do you have 8gb ram or 16gb ram.
If your ram is 8gb consider upgrading it to atleast 16gb. If you have 16 gb ram and you feel like you will need more, you can try 32gb.

(2) What speed is your ram.
If your ram is 3200mhz or lower, you can consider upgrading to to 3600mhz with good cl ratings, but 3200mhz also does the job as seen in this video:

Q: Do you have enough storage.
(1) Do you feel like you could use at least a bit more storage . Then why dont you add a bit more storage .

Gaming Performance: 5600x vs. 5800x3d

Q: What resolution do you what to game on?
(1) 1080p resolution with 1080p gpu :
Then most of the games will run perfectly fine on 5600x, upgrading to a 5800x3d wont make much difference .

(2) 1440p resolution with 1080p gpu :
Considering you have a 1080p gpu, you will most likely be gpu bottlecked ,
(3 1440p resolution with 1440p gpu :
If you have a 1440p gpu it doesnt even matter between 5600x and 5800x3d. As this video points out the gaming difference is almost nothing :
(granted its using 7800xt for more real world performance)

*If you plan to play on 1440p , as i said the gaming diff between 5600x and 5800x3d is almost none or is atleast beyond playable on both cpus. But you will need a good 1440p gpu. Gpus like the RX 6800 XT (there are lower tier cards than this than can game on 1440p) do give great 1440p performance. Even in this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJHJdbMVc7A the performance uplift from 5600X to the 5800x3d isnt that great.
But as seen in this video: the jump from a 1080p card to a 1440p card is massive

Also when you will eventually upgrade to a new system, the 1440p card will still be with you.

Regarding the AM5 Eol date, i expect it to be about till mid 2028 , possibly even 2030(considering new cpus will still come out for the AM5 like what happened with am4) , and likely expecting AM6 announcemts in beginning of 2029.
Upgrading to Eol platform isnt all that negative if you already have a am4 system , why upgrade when the old system gives out the same performance, now Upgradability is a big selling point for AM5 but when you already have a capable system why spend so much on a new CPU , RAM , Motherboard when you can have almost the same and save a lot of money.

This post isn't entirely best or even good, but hope this helps.

For AM4 and ZEN3 Cpus like the 5600X running Dual Rank memory can net you up to 10% more gaming performance.

3600 CL 16 DR kits are a decent starting place but if you can OC RAM then 3800 CL15/14 does improve gaming performance even more.

The mistake in the video about 3866 CL18 makes it seems like the higher MCLK does not give any benefit but it actually does if you run lower CL like 3800 CL15/14

This is my current daily setup on my 5800X and 5600X which has been stressed tested to be 100% stable.

You are right, dual channel is indeed faster than one, higher mhz also are great.
However if you check the prices, getting a 3600mhz (cl18 and cl16) ram be 1.4 times or 2.5 times more expensive than a standard 3200mhz cl16.

Maximizing performance with dual channel is great but 3600mhz cl16 might result in diminishing gains. I do mean it's great and fast performance, but comparing dual channel 3200mhz and 3600mhz only to get like 2-3% while spending so much might only result in diminishing gains.

Nevertheless its a great point to keep in mind while buying.
