AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D CPU Leaked Benchmarks Reveal Ryzen 9950X Equivalent Performance In Synthetic Tests
AMD's top-of-the-line Ryzen 9 9950X3D is as fast as its non-X3D variant in synthetic tests as revealed in various benchmarks.
As we approach the launch date of the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, it's obvious that some reviewers may have got their hands on either or both of these CPUs. PC Build is one of them, who posted the early synthetic benchmarks of Ryzen 9 9950X3D on Facebook, revealing some performance numbers.
As far as the performance in Cinebench R23 goes, the Ryzen 9950X3D is on par with the Ryzen 9950X. The screenshot shows the Ryzen 9 9950X3D delivers
42,413 points in multicore test,
which is slightly above what we achieved in our testing of Ryzen 9 9950X, which scored 41,808 points. In single core, the 9950X3D shows a similar behaviour by delivering
2279 points, which is on par with the single-core C23 results of its non-X3D variant.
This was expected since the Ryzen 9 9950X3D boasts identical core clocks as the Ryzen 9 9950X. However, due to bigger L3 cache memory, expect it to outperform the latter in select applications and games. Now moving on to the 3DMark tests, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D scored
17,234 points in the CPU Profile Max Threads test, which is comparable to the 9950X. This score can go higher or lower based on the tests, but overall, it's in a similar range.
AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D looks like a solid upgrade for anyone who wishes to enhance productivity. The processor will also feature leading gaming performance as was reported previously. Ryzen 9 9950X3D boasts dual CCDs with each CCD featuring 8 cores and 32 MB of L3 cache. One of those will have an additional 64 MB of L3 cache on a 3D chiplet, situated underneath.
As one of the screenshots reveals, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D can go up to 5.7 GHz on a single CCD (Non-X3D) while the X3D CCD goes up to 5.54 GHz, which is the boost clock of the Ryzen 9 9950X as well. Moreover, this is the first-ever X3D CPU to feature a TDP of 170W, which was limited to 120W in the previous generation.
The processor is expected to launch on 12th March as per the reports and while we don't have official confirmation of its launch or pricing, the processor is likely to go on retail for $699, as was seen in one of the early listings. Its smaller sibling, Ryzen 9 9900X3D, is expected to be launched alongside it at $599 and will be a great alternative to Ryzen 9 9900X for those who want the best in gaming and productivity through 12 cores/24 threads configuration.
