thats apple care plus i think, applecare can be purchased during the warranty period afaik , maybe the rules have changed, i asked maple they said they can extend. you can check with your local retailer.

When did you ask maple? During purchase? Then they would refer to the same 60 day policy

Also maple has only Applecare+ there's no standalone Applecare

i just asked yesterday, they said they can do it over the phone too. i had also mentioned to them that i purchased this in november. unless their own employee is clueless bro this is exactly what was said to me.

anyway ill remove the applecare bit incase u are 100% sure it is like that now. im not lying to anyone. have been a very old member. not here to scam or lie for a sale.
 
There's no AppleCare. It was rebranded to AC+ few years ago. The difference being former covering manufacturing defects only while later covers accidents and user induced damages (for a fixed fee).
Both of them must be activated within 60 days of purchase, but AC (without plus) was allowed to be purchased within 1yr by going to an Apple Store and getting the device checked by technicians. I have done that with 2019 MBP.
With the advent of AC+, that may not be the case and it's best to talk to apple directly instead of authorised reseller.

This seems to be factually incorrect and against Apple's ToS.

Either way, this is a good deal.

No one is accusing you of anything, I think TE culture is guilty until proven innocent.

I as a fellow member of this community am pointing out the factually incorrect information disseminated by the said employee, I'd rather want the employee to be reprimanded about disseminating wrong information more than anything else
