Wrt features i can bet the ultimate version is better than the normal one. Regarding the theme i guess it can be changed easily. Does the ultimate version has some other disadvantages also?

Better go with ubuntu ultimate version. It has many additions and has most of the codecs and stuff are integrated. With other version u may have to install the codecs manually which may be a tedious task since u r new.

That array thing is alright but then too how do u get questions and answers in the array? I assume that you do it from an external file. Isn't the database approach a better option here?

How did u do it? My Solution: You can entirely use database for this task, both for generating the HTML form which has questions and also saving the users responses. In this way, a separate GUI to change questions and options can be made later and it can be a good system to design...

Are you sure you are running chkdsk on the correct drive?? The message above is usually displayed in two cases: 1. When you scan your system's root drive; since most of the files in tht drive are in use chkdsk won't continue but give this message. 2. Some process is currently using the drive...

There is surely some problem with the hardware or the cd being used. Try troubleshooting each component. Start with cd, cdrom and so on.
