yes, through testing, stress testing, all kinds of testing....Or company actually tested the fan for 257 hours before shipping it
Which models you faced problems?Guys,
1. Which BLDC ceiling fan brand/models which are known to throw around the room? My last few purchases of ceiling fans were bad. I feel the air only if I stand right underneath them.
those are called dimmers and they kill the fan motor and produce humming fan in fan.but only the smooth/free flow ones (i don't even know what these are actually called)
Yup. Those are called dimmer, like 6pack suggested. You can still get them. Try a different shop or get them online. We don't have any step regulators but only the smooth/free flow ones (i don't even know what these are actually called) but lately electric shops are having the step regulators only.
As per some reviews, smart ones (the ones with app) have configurable speeds. But I'm not sure. I like my fans dumb. I already have 10+ IOT apps on my phone. One more and my phone will commit suicide.Any bldc fan offer which offers full control over speed?
Dang. Other brands have worse reviews compared to atomberg.Never go for atomberg. Their quality has degraded recently.
Oho thanks. We are using these dimmers for like 30 years though and never had to even service any fans. So not sure about the motor killing part, but humming maybe there cannot confirm.those are called dimmers and they kill the fan motor and produce humming fan in fan.
Thanks. I need to check on this power factor thing as i don't know about it. I am guessing higher power factor like 1.0 is optimum right?Dimmers have a tendency to reduce power factor at a really low values. That's probably why you get humming from motors. I use a dimmer with my air cooler, and it has made the cooler actually practical to use. Having said that, I'd surprised if you get humming from BLDC motors.
Yes I really would like a non smart fan. Dumb fan, yep, exactly what I'm looking for.Talking about dimmers, I think I'll replace the step regulator with a dimmer for my already working atomberg.

power factor of 1.0 = highest speed of fan without anything in between like regulator. So you will never get pf 1 if you use regulator on anything but highest speed of 5.hanks. I need to check on this power factor thing as i don't know about it. I am guessing higher power factor like 1.0 is optimum right?
1.0 is perfect. I never understood the PF. The way it made sense to me is that when an appliance tries to drag/delay/alter that sin wave of AC, the PF drops.I need to check on this power factor thing as i don't know about it. I am guessing higher power factor like 1.0 is optimum right?
I beg to differ see my last posts in this thread I have 9 atomberg now and all are working fine without a issue maybe yours were defective, if you like I can share you the ceo email you can mail him your problems.Never go for atomberg. Their quality has degraded recently.
