I did the soldering myself. I spent about USD 2-3 ordering the resistors from eBay. Had everything else handy. The water block for this GPU (originally developed for miners) is from a seller based in Poland who specializes in extreme cooling hardware. This was a little bit of a splurge.

Doesn't hurt to take a leap sometimes! The performance the shunt mod unlocks overwhelms the stock cooling solution quite quickly. Some water cooling is in order.. I'll share some results from the shunt mod on the SFF thread soon for anybody who may be interested. Cheers.

Like the title suggests. The application is a GPU shunt mod.

I'd start by replacing the thermal paste and cleaning out the fan and heatsink if required.

Plenty such as the Alpenfohn Black Ridge and Cryorig C7 which do it whilst being 20mm shorter.

@ibose you may be interested in the motherboard OP wants to sell.

Ah, okay. Though it is used as a lubricant for small jobs, looks like it is not appropriate for constantly moving parts. Machine oil of the sort you get with beard trimmers etc. sounds more appropriate.

Mine is still going strong though my friend could not watch anything at all after a point.

There are mixed metals in the block itself, so running a separate loop is not a solution.
