Another similar option is http://virb.com/ which seems...
Start here, see what subjects you like --> Khan Academy :)
it has maths,science, finance, economy, Humanities, programming & just about everything in 10min videos. Nice way to explore without investing too much time :P
with both ADSL & Ethernet flicker at same time, its perfectly normal. it just indicates packets transfer which happens all the time when you are connected to internet. The only thing is to worry is when ADSL alone flickers. so far that has happened only once.
So it seems your disconnection...
@Emperor
So the link is not stable for you, even with ADSL_G.dmt? If yes, then verify the following things
1. No phone/Fax should be connected before splitter.
2. DSL or ADSL LED should be ON and stable. If not glowing or blinking, And the ADSL link:
when stable == OK
when blinking ==...
Its Gaurish :)
The downstream SNR is fine but SNR 12 for upstream is bit low as it doesn't leave margin for error, little bit of disturbance & you would loose the connection. so I would advice you to try to change modulation to G.dmt. The option to do that should be present in Advanced menu...
1. login to http://192.168.1.1
2. enter username & password, default is admin unless you changed it
3. Goto Status.
4. Click on Modem Status.
SNR values should be greater than 10 atleast, anything above 20 should give a stable connection
attenuation should be less than 30
Hope it helps ;)
post your SNR & attenuation for upstream & downstream. Further, switching modulation to G.dmt might help, as G.dmt is much more robust & works better on noisy lines than ADSL2+ which is the default modulation.
