If you are planning to run games on a 144hz panel, then the 8700K would make sense, for all else the 2700x would be a better all round solution plus you have an upgrade path for the next couple years. Intel's rumored 8 core 16 thread chip will come with a motherboard refresh, doubt it will be...
My understanding is that partners that join Nvidia's GPP, cannot use their top gaming brands i.e Asus - Strix, Gigabyte - Aorus, MSI - Gaming, cannot use these for the competitor, going forward, you will not see this branding for AMD cards. This is quite appalling if you ask me, but Nvidia have...
Interesting thread, I love SFF builds, unfortunately we dont get the variety of components, even if we do, there is heavy premium. That case look absolutely gorgeous. Do let me know if you find a reasonable Z370 mini ITX mobo.
Well it isnt as straight forward as that, depends which video editing software you use, whether it utilizes Opencl or CUDA and additionally there are certain codecs within the editing software that would leverage the GPU more effectively.
Congrats on the new rig. Howevr, not sure what you would do with the 1050TI, if you arent planning to game. But a well balanced rig, could have put that money in the Ram / SSD.
Just saw this thread, when the OP is asking for a video editing rig, why is @bssunilreddy suggesting a 2400g + 1050TI?
@gurujee Hope you went with R51600 + 16 gigs of Ram (min) + SSD. These will help your video editing not the 1050TI.
As I told you via PM, you need to look at the QVL for the specific board that you are looking to purchase and buy compatible ram. Though the ram compatibility has improved significantly for hassle free PC building this is the best approach.
Dual memory is not a 'good idea' but a 2400mhz dual channel kit will beat a single module @3000mhz. So, if one is going with the Ryzen APU build the dual channel is strongly recommended.
Solid build bro, but if I were you, would get a cheaper more reasonable B350 mobo (~7k), and invest the delta in the processor or elsewhere. Enjoy your new rig!
