This is exactly what I did. Didn't root, only custom rom after unlocking bootloader. Safety net is working fine. Banking apps, gpay, paytm, zerodha, coin work absolutely fine.

So I sat and painstakingly unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP and PE Plus rom! Man is it smooth! and free of Chinese bloatware?! @FXGalvatron Also changed the battery on Poco F1. I think the new ROM and battery together should let me use this for another 2-3 years? :D
