Was wondering why Android OS phones cost almost as much as phones with proprietary OS (Blackberry, iPhone, Windows etc.)? Does Google provide support for Android the way MS does with their OS (helpline, customer service resolution of any issues etc.)? Also how do end users (we consumers)...

Ok, so it seems that the only phones that are going to have 'Bada' in the foreseeable future are the Wave series? The future doesn't look too promising for Bada I guess :(

If you are fine with not messing around with the phone too much and going with official updates, I think the Milestone would be a pretty solid choice.

I would recommend you stay away from Motorola phones as these tend to have no clear future upgrade paths and locked bootloader etc. E.g. Milestone is still awaiting Froyo even though it was touted as Flash ready phone from the day it was marketed (quite sometime back).

Actually for some that would be a negative point. IMO for a phone, smaller (but not too small) would be better. But then YMMV.

IMO for an Open Source project support from outside the company i.e. the user community is going to be more important. And when you compare Bada with any other Open Source OS (Android or even Meego) this is very low and does not seem to be spreading anywhere beyond Samsung phones.

I think it would help if you have a look at both the phones, and then decide which one you like better.

+1. I don't think MBA's could manage without a Windows machine.

Some people may like the bigger SGS and its look while for others it may be a negative. I'd suggest you see both of them and then decide which you like better.

Dell Inspiron 15 might be worth looking into.

So which one did you buy? Was it the one with Core i5, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD? How much did it cost totally?

I really hope they don't delay the launch in India like they did with the Desire.
