Got the router yesterday.. Can't really make out any difference over my 8 year old router in terms of range. The 5G range hardly reaches the next room and the 2.5G range is more or less the same. Will try out its additional features though.

why not get a Pentium G3258, I do remember asus(an others) having a bios for the B85 which allowed overclocking. You can save a couple of grand there.
