Only as much water as needed is heated. This is better than heating more water than needed in external geyser. There are some front loaders without heater - IFB Diva. Have a belt drive front loader - vibrates only if placed on uneven surface.

For most MFPs - the scanner doesnt work if the printer cartridge is empty. Also, every time you start the MFP for a scan, the printer head is cleaned by injecting some ink and this wastes cartridges.

Cheapo MFP (Rs3.5k) costs almost same as cheapo printer (Rs2k) + cheapo scanner (Rs2k).

Dont buy MFP unless you plan to print frequently. Buy separate printer and scanner. If you are still bent on buying MFP then the Epsons have fairly cheap cartridges. Where do you live?
