Hello guys I need a print copy scan printer for home usage... My budget is 3.5-4 K max and I will not be taking too many prints daily... So please suggest me a decent printer which shall be easy to maintain with cost efficient cartridges or refillable cartridges yearly... Bw I am interested in this one
http://www.flipkart.com/canon-pixma-mp-287-multifunction-inkjet-printer/p/itmdyvdjdbqp5hz6?pid=PRNDYVDHBYSTHKPH&ref=8a8113b5-7885-49ff-9149-ef29164e584d&srno=t_1&otracker=from-search&query=printers#mce_temp_url# but i am not sure about the cartridge coz of negative comments and moreover I have a very little knowledge regarding printers... So please help me people

Dont buy MFP unless you plan to print frequently. Buy separate printer and scanner.

If you are still bent on buying MFP then the Epsons have fairly cheap cartridges.

Where do you live?

dont buy anything with hp printed on it.
damn costly cartridges.

suggest either epson or brother.
lol but one of my frends said hp is available everywhere and its cheap... :p bw idk much about it so i will keep it in mind... bw what about canon?

Please help any expert in the feild of printing machines.... Still not able to make out..... Please suggest a particular model for epson or canon

Printers break down/get upgraded far more often than scanners. I have replaced my printer twice. My scanner is still the same. So when you need to change your printer, will you be willing to throw away an entire MFP?

well bro i guess you are right but quality wise hp not that good...
I use an Ink Advantage printer and I've not noticed any quality issues. Anyway the Ink Advantage printers tend to be a little more expensive - about 3k+, so won't fit in your budget.

Bro i can spend 3k + but need to know the exact amount.... And would that include print copy scan?
Oops sorry didnt read everything bro... Well if an mfp is that bad then i shall opt for separate printer and scanner?wish i wud have both things with in the same machine.....

I have been using canon mp 287 since 1.5 years now.
Had ordered it from flipkart. It is good for the money. I dont print everyday. Must have printed around 600-800 pages till now.
I get my cartridges filled locally.
Also the scanner works, even if the printer cartridge is empty.

I have filled my cartridge once. It costed me around 200Rs. They used some kind of injector. Usually you would run out of black ink. My color cartridge is still not consumed, since i bought my printer.
I think even we should be able to do it, provided we get good quality ink.
Now my ink has run out. Need to refill again.

Please do find out, if they refill ink near your place, else you would need to spend more on getting new cartridges.
