Android Anyone tried home visit mobile repairing?

Hi all, I was looking around for repair of my Nokia 7 Plus charging port, and came across services which perform repair at your house. Has anyone tried such a service? I found Yaantra, which says, by Flipkart, on its mobile repair page: https://www.yaantra.com/repair/mobilerepair I found...

15-20K Thinking of buying Moto G73, but unsure of Mediatek

Yep It's true. Croma is owned by Tata, and they offer discount to Tata employees. My brother is one, so I know of this.

Buying from Chroma will be a good choice. Also, they handle the service I think, atleast they do so for OnePlus where my brother bought the phone for my mom. They might have some offers too, for discount.

15-20K Thinking of buying Moto G73, but unsure of Mediatek

Honestly, I was worried about Motorola phones when Lenovo bought the company, but it is good to see that they haven't changed Motorola quality and reliability, and they continue with the stock Android. It is a major bonus if they provide assured updates.

15-20K Thinking of buying Moto G73, but unsure of Mediatek

One of my biggest concerns regarding Moto phones was the OS update. Now that I know they have assured updates, even if they are delayed, Moto phones look like a really good choice. For a smartphone, I look for stock/near stock Android and regular OS and security updates, apart from quality and...

Was the phone assured of any number of updates? Did you get them all?

15-20K Thinking of buying Moto G73, but unsure of Mediatek

I see assured OS updates for 2 years and 3 years of security update mentioned for Moto Edge 40 Motorola have been bad in terms of updates in the past. Has this improved now? Are they providing the updates as they mention, and are the updates timely, or are they delayed a lot? If they provide...

HMD Global to create its own phone brand

Yes, that would be good to see. Currently, Nokia do have low hardware specs given the price, and that's what disappoints me.

HMD Global to create its own phone brand

I like Nokia for their stock Android, good build quality, and guaranteed OS and security upgrades. I am quite happy with Nokia phones. I don't want to buy Chinese phones as far as possible. Samsung phones are filled with bloatware apps, very irritating.

HMD will continue to make Nokia phones, as mentioned in the article, but yea, will be interesting to see what happens in the future.

Other Precautions when submitting phone to the service center for repair

Yea, if they want to reset, they will need the pin I think, since they will have to do it from the Settings. But, I think, a factory reset can also be performed by going into the safe mode, which is done by booting the phone with some power and volume buttons combination. But you are correct...

Other Precautions when submitting phone to the service center for repair

Thanks for this. But, I read, it will save all photos and videos, and SMS messages, contacts and all that. I don't want backup of all... can it be configured to backup just the apps and app data? I didn't see any options for configuration. I don't want my photos, videos, sms and all on Google...

Other Precautions when submitting phone to the service center for repair

Oh okay. Yea, in that case, it is better to factory reset the phone before giving it for repair at the service center.

Why would they need password to solve a hardware issue? Good thing you didn't give them the password.

Other Precautions when submitting phone to the service center for repair

Thank you everyone for the advice. Very good advice by all of you. Yea, once I had posted, I had a thought about backing up the phone too, in case something happens, just to be safe. Turning phone off and giving to them is also a good idea. But, since it is a power button issue, I will have to...
