I Have owned a 5106k for the last 5 months and never did I get a 5.1 sound output, I am not sure if it is because of the settings, But the DVD player recoganises the Disk as 3.1 whereas when I play it in the laptop, it says 5.1 dts.. this is just my opinion about it....

Okay I got this sorted out myself, Well there is an option in the DVD player to check what sort of sound output the DVD comes with... Most of the DVD's I have are pirated hence does not have 5.1 output.. I am not very sure about the length andy, but was good enough for my room, I can find...

Zhopudey, My man... Thank you again, I got pirated dvd in which 5.1 was written, Do you reckon they would actualy play 5.1 sound??? Also would all the speakers work if the DVD says 5.1 output on it(Pirated) or is it just dolby that all the speakers would work??? Sorry Guess I am confused again

Okay I hate to do this to all of you all AGAIN... I got the connectors as mentioned by zhopudey, Sounds much better now(Thank you) However when I try changing the setup to 5.1, then centre and rear speakers does not work... Would anyone like to comment????(Please)

zpopudey, I have a philips 5106k, I think it comes with Dolby digital.. Can you please tell me what does it mean by a 5.1 setup?? is it dolby digital output that we are talking about??
