HDD is the problem in most of the slowness. All my laptops have SSD. Even if I get a used laptop with HDD (like the T480 I got), I immediately get a SSD and clone it. I found the Macrium Reflect free edition do a wonderful job. Cloning using it and swapping the new SSD works like a charm

if you go totally out of windows it does not mean much. What is the complication you feel in this approach? It is a one time activity .

To avoid all this I have installed portableapps.com platform. It has portable versions of all the popular utilities and apps like chrome, firefox , 7-zip, vlc-player etc. You can selectively choose and install the required applications as you wish.

I have set the relative humidity to 38. Whenever I open this even for a minute, it shoots upto 55 and slowly comes down avter about 5 minutes. Is this a normal behaviour?

I am using Microsoft onedrive which gives 1TB of cloud storage free along with office 365 subscription that costs about 4300 per year. It can be shared with 5 users and you can invite yourselves to use that extra space but I have never done that.
