Actually, some of the cables are pretty hard to bend without causing some amount of flexing/strain on the mobo headers..

Just get a single GTX 580 for now. Add another one in a year or two along with a 120hz monitor. Right now it's still a niche market but should become mature soon. With the rest of money, get an SSD. 90 gigger should do fine. I recommend the new Corsair ones which can do 555 read/write.
