What do u guys use as power backup for LCD TVs?

I use the same UPS and recommend it. Whereas my previous SU-KAM sinewave UPS would still produce a small blip on the screen when the power went off, I don't even notice that the power has gone with this one. It's expensive especially if you add in two batteries, but worth it.

Real or Fake: Sennheiser CX-300 On Deal Extreme

I once ordered the very same headphones from an Amazon third-party dealer and it was obvious they were fake (tinny sound and cheapie case). I would stay away from this deal.

    BSNL WiMax Rates Announced

Wish they would call it WiMin instead of WiMax. Yesterday Google announced a 1Gbps fiber network to the home. Indian ISPs are still bouncing along at less than a thousandth of that speed and calling it broadband. What a crock!

Graphic Cards What connector is this??

This looks like a 3.5MM audio socket (like the one used on your headphones) to RCA DIN stereo converter (like the ones at the back of your amp/receiver).

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

Strangely enough, I am having a good experience with BSNL. When I first got my connection, there were all sorts of problems, but the local exchange has a very competent engineer who actually came to my house a couple of times when I filed complaints to see if the problem was with the modem. Most...

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

I was already using a non-BSNL dns server, so that part didn't solve the problem. Let me see if the setting it to the loopback addess works. Thanks for your help.

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

OK, from the looks of it, it is legit. The address that I'm pulled to is http://www.motive.bsnl.co.in/. Any insights?

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

No. Let's say I click on the techenclave link on top of this page. Instead of getting to the TE homepage, I get the nag page I talked about instead. If I ignore it and surf to the TE homepage through the bookmark I have, I am able to do so and can continue regular surfing until it nags me again...

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

S**t! I didn't look at it from that angle. Tell me it ain't so. Avast hasn't caught it but I certainly will do a little more research on it next time it pops up.

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

No, I have an always-on 512 kbps unlimited connection through their wi-fi modem.

Any BSNL users getting annoying nag screen?

Every 10 or 15 minutes or so, when I surf to a page, I get a BSNL nag screen instead asking me to download some kind of bloatware that's supposed to help them check up on my modem, upgrade firmware and some other stuff. I've been doing fine without all of this stuff ever since I got the...

Best projector within 1L range ?

Well, I was providing one alternative to a dedicated screen. I too was looking all over for a decent affordable retractable screen before I went the paint route because, like you said, I have a wall that gives me a screen in excess of 160" diagonal (size is where the wow factor comes in with...

Best projector within 1L range ?

I researched this a little bit on AVS forum where there's a thread for DIY screens and ended up painting the wall with a shade called "Snowfields" from DULUX studio and projecting on to it. Cost me a fraction of what an electric screen would cost and the picture is just awesome with a Epson Home...

Is the Iphone 3GS price Justified???

I've had my Iphone 3G for over a year now and have had zero problems with it, so people complaining about it's quality is perplexing to me. If 10 out of 1000 users have problems and post their experiences, it would look like the Iphone is problematic whereas in reality the vast majority are...

Is the Iphone 3GS price Justified???

LOL, I own a 16GB 3G and I'm certainly not delusional (well, not about my Iphone anyway)! And I'm not even an Apple fanboy (never owned any other Apple product). I've owned a dozen or so phones over the years and this is the only one that simply goes into the background when executing the job...

    Need 110V mixie

Buy a reliable 220V and pick up a step-down transformer of appropriate wattage readily available on Ebay for around USD 40-50. That's what my niece did in the U.S. and they work with absolutely no issues.

PC Peripherals Help reqd. : Silent 80mm fan

I have a projector that's noisy too, but I wouldn't risk changing the fans. The lamp generates a lot of heat and could possibly blow if it is not evacuated properly and cost a lot to replace. If space exists, what I would suggest is to get 92-80mm and 60-40mm adapters and put larger 92 mm and...

PC Peripherals Acer Aspire Revo: The Desktop Disruption lands in India

Looks like Acer has gotten cold feet supporting the ION and gone back to a full Intel platform with it's next nettop called Veriton. My feeling is that the Atom may be OK for netbooks where the expectations are what you would expect for ultra-portability but it's still underpowered for...
