Guys, please use Clockwork Mod Recovery. It's much better than the 2e/3e recovery (which is by Samsung right?). It's used widely, I've used it on my Vibrant and G2, and am using it on my Nexus S as well.

If you want the latest updates ASAP(for a year atleast), which are properly working and stable, then yes. (by stable I mean fully working, not half to almost working 2.3.1 builds that are coming out very soon) Otherwise if you don't mind waiting for the devs at XDA to get the latest updates...

Supercurio is doing some fantastic work. Looking at the 2.3.1 build for the SGS, he's working at an alarming rate. Wonder when does he sleep. Even the other devs are working extremely fast. At this rate, looks like quite a lot of the major phones will see 2.3.1 by next week. :D
