DGX will be useful when you upgrade your PC and don't get backward compatibility wrt slots. Or else, if you use a micro - ATX board with a GPU, chances are that the PCI and PCIe slots will be close to each other, and having a DGX will be helpful in such a case

Yes, its a hardware related boost, because I have turned off all possible settings / enhancements on the Xonar Audio Center. I anyway listen to music on a flat equalizer :)
