    Monitors Power consumption b/w 17" CRT & 22" LCD

My current config is in my sign. I am planning to sell off my sAMSUNG 17" CRT and buy a 22" LCD monitor. I am currently using a eMerge 500VA UPS to power the current system. (1). How much of a power difference would there be between my 17" CRT and a 22" LCD monitor. More or less? And numbers...

2GB of ram would be enough for normal usage, but might not suffice for gaming. Windows 7's XP Mode Requires 2 GB RAM - Tom's Hardware

    CPU/Mobo Combo confusion

I am using my old 8600GT for now. Crappy card, but i can get decent fps at low-med settings at 1024*768. Planning to upgrade in March, when I will definitely go for a 4850 minimum, possibly a 4870.

    CPU/Mobo Combo confusion

69 views and no replies makes me a sad panda :( Anyways, went ahead and bought X3 720 BE asus M4A785TD-V EVO 2GB TRANSCEND DDR3 500GB SEAGATE 7200.12 VX 450 CM 335 Figured might as well compromise on the 955BE, as I could get a 720BE+32mb cache HDD instead. Systems up and running smoothly...

    CPU/Mobo Combo confusion

Hi gang, This is a config request, but not putting in the request format, because of the query below. On a 26k budget for CPU+MOBO+2GB RAM+CABINET+PSU, which is better for gaming - (1). 955 BE + my 2 year old 2mb cache HDD, (OR) 720BE + new 32mb cache HDD The prices work out...

    Torchlight - Discussion Thread

Its an okay timepass, nothing more, nothing else. Titan Quest was waaaayyy better, gameplay wise. Nothing comes close to D2 for the sheer storyline and immersiveness, I still play it casually now and then. If only I could get the game in a higher resolution!! Torchlight was made by some of the...

    PC Peripherals Questions

Thanks guys for the replies :hap2: Guess that puts things in perspective. CM 590 is the way to go, unless someone can suggest something cheaper, reason being I would like to go for a 5890 maybe like a year-year and a half from now.

    PC Peripherals Questions

Couple of questions for you guys - (1). Due to budget limitations, which is better to game at 16xx resolution, X4 620 + 4850 (or) X3 720 BE + 9800 GT (or) X4 955 BE + 9600 gt/4670 I understand that some games are optimized for multicores, while others aren't. Nevertheless...

    PC Peripherals UPS dilema

Worst case, if it doesn't give me backup, ill upgrade to a 650 VA one. Comp(650va) + tv(150-200va) + light/fans etc will still be less than the 1 kva max allowed. And as said earlier, I only need like 30s backup for the generator to kick in.

    PC Peripherals UPS dilema

I have a CFT 500W psu currently with 27A on 12v. I am planning to go for a X4-620 + 9800GT/equivalent combination. Lets hope neither the PSU nor the UPS let me down :bleh: Waiting for fermi to release, will be using mu 8600 GT for now.

    PC Peripherals UPS dilema

Hi gang, I have an emerge 500 VA UPS running A64 3200+,8600gt,A8N-VM, 2GB DDR1, 1 HDD, 1 DVD R/W, printer/scanner/copier combo & 17" CRT. Backup is basically low, maybe a minute max. But it doesn't affect me much, as my apartment has 1KVA backup, which kicks in within 20s. If i...

True, but it's either a hit or a miss. Don't think the seller would let us search in his shop for the right number :P

    PC Peripherals Chieftec CFT500W

Will it be able to run a 720BE/955BE + 4850? It shows 44 amp on 12v rail, but 324/12 = 27A. Actual might be lower i guess. Does 4850 need more than that to run safely?

    CPU/Mobo Suggestions for combo

See, if I buy it now, i can pass off the price of the gfx card, since its part of a combo . If I buy sepately with a monitor, it would be hard for me to justify the price to my wife :bleh: I would rather spend like 30k now, 3k for ram later, 10k for monitor then, and move on to new HDD and stuff.
