Hi Gang, need your advice. I need to upgrade my jurassic era single core athlon 2 ghz + 8600 gt system. My budget is 30k for the following parts -

Processor(Min tri core). Not keen on unlocking. If i get it, its a bonus.
Motherboard(Will go for mild Ocing down the lane)
DDR3 ram( 2gb stick will suffice for now)
Gfx card
PSU
Which combo is better -
720 BE, Biostar TA790GX A3+, 2*1GB DDR3, 4850 1 GB(go xfire a year later), Corsair VX 550W(little future proof for xfire)

(OR)

720BE, Biostar TA790GX A3+, 2*1GB DDR3, GTX 260 SP 216, Corsair VX 450W

I have plans to buy a better HDD and a 22/24" monitor in a few months.

Which combo makes more sense. Also, is there any better options than the parts listed above? Remember the budget is strictly 30k :bleh:

Cheers
V

P.S Uh oh, looks like 720 BE is being phased out. Decisions, decisions..........

how about core i5 (11k) + gigabyte P55 chipset (7k) + 2x2GB DDR3 (transcend for 2.3k each stick) + Corsair VX550W (5.5k)

you will have 5k or so left. wait for a month till ATI HD5850 price comes down from 17k to more reasonable 12k and then buy it along with a FullHD display.

See, if I buy it now, i can pass off the price of the gfx card, since its part of a combo . If I buy sepately with a monitor, it would be hard for me to justify the price to my wife :bleh:

I would rather spend like 30k now, 3k for ram later, 10k for monitor then, and move on to new HDD and stuff.
